Senior Business Development Manager

Hybrid / Flexible 

The Studio Business Group (SBG) is the team behind PlayStation Studios’ world-class first party gaming experiences.

As a Sr. Business Development Manager, you will drive strategic partnerships and complex negotiations that enable our studios to deliver exceptional content to players worldwide. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including studio leaders, IP creators, publishers, marketing and commercial teams, to shape business strategies, structure deals and unlock creative opportunities that advance PlayStation Studios’ portfolio.

This role is located in the US and will report to the Director, Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted business partner to  Studio Business Group leadership, providing strategic counsel on deal structures, commercial strategies, rights and obligations, and partnership opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations and deal execution for a wide range of commercial arrangements, including development partnerships, licensing (inbound and outbound), co-development, and service arrangements.
  • Evaluate deal economics and value drivers across business models, identifying risks, dependencies and opportunities for value creation.
  •  
  • Develop and implement negotiation strategies that align with business goals and deliver optimal outcomes for SIE and its partners.  
  • Manage the end-to-end contracting process, ensuring deals progress efficiently from initial engagement through execution.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of deal negotiations, approvals, and documentation to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Continuously improve contract templates, workflows, and business processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build and nurture relationships with PlayStation’s key internal and external partners, fostering trust and long-term collaboration
  • Domestic and international travel required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in deal management, business development, or commercial strategy, ideally within gaming, entertainment or a or publishing environment.
  • Degree in business, law, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, licensing and IP management.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication and stakeholder management with a collaborative approach.
  • Proven track record of leading complex negotiations and structuring creative, commercially viable agreements.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity, ensuring all business dealings adhere to SIE’s ethical standards.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance creativity and pragmatism in problem solving.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate commercial, legal, and operational risks.
  • Passion for video games and entertainment; familiarity with  live events and concerts is a plus.
