The Connected Experiences team builds highly scalable java based services that connect PlayStation users with the social and entertainment experiences they love. Our services provide customers with always-available unified experiences to enrich the PlayStation ecosystem with simplicity, security, and reliability. Our mission is to provide the highest level of performance and reliability for our customers.


The Role:

As part of our team, you'll develop distributed services, collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, and operations team members to build highly robust solutions. Role responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software

  • Provide solutions that are simple, maintainable, well abstracted, and with accurate test coverage

  • Perform in-depth requirement analysis and design/code reviews with peers

  • Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise

  • Problem solve and triage issues including addressing operational incidents


About You:

  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent with 3+ years of strong hands-on Java (ideally Reactive Java Programming) development experience for backend web services using Spring boot framework

  • Experience developing services built for deployment into AWS EC2 or EKS using Docker

  • Experience developing applications on Unix/Linux platforms

  • Experience with servlet containers (e.g., Tomcat), JAXRS, Spring, and related technologies.

  • Experience developing REST based web services also utilizing JSON and XML.

  • Familiarity with data storage technologies such as Oracle, DynamoDB, and Cassandra

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and familiarity with continuous integration and deployment processes.

  • Experience with tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Jenkins, JIRA, Git etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Works well with others at all levels, and effective at working with geographically remote and culturally diverse teams.

  • Passion for quality with the ability to inspire, excite and motivate other team members.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$145,700 - $218,500 USD
