Senior Manager, Security Systems

San Mateo, CA (Hybrid)

The Senior Manager, Security Systems will oversee the strategy, implementation, and operation of SIE’s global physical security technology infrastructure. This includes access control systems, video surveillance, alarm systems, and other cutting-edge security technologies. As a critical leader within the Corporate Security team, this individual will develop and maintain a secure environment across all SIE locations while ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives. This role will also drive convergence between physical and logical security systems, leveraging emerging technologies to create a cohesive and innovative security framework. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Define and execute a comprehensive vision for SIE’s physical security systems globally. 

  • Align security technology strategy with corporate goals, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and alignment with future growth. 

Program Development & Oversight: 

  • Design and manage the lifecycle of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and visitor management systems. 

  • Oversee integration of physical security systems with broader enterprise platforms (e.g., IT, HR). 

  • Utilize analytics from security systems to identify trends, optimize operations, and support data-driven decision-making. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Partner with other teams within Corporate Security, as well as IT, Facilities, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of security systems into business operations. 

  • Act as the subject matter expert for security systems during audits, investigations, and incident response. 

  • Drive convergence between physical and logical security systems to create a cohesive security infrastructure. 

Team Leadership: 

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of security systems professionals. 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusivity. 

Vendor Management: 

  • Partner with external vendors to evaluate, implement, and maintain best-in-class security solutions. 

  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery. 

Risk Management & Compliance: 

  • Ensure security systems meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. 

  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify and address vulnerabilities. 

  • Develop and maintain protocols for leveraging security systems during emergencies, incidents, and investigations. 

Emerging Technology: 

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, IoT, predictive analytics, and cloud-based solutions to enhance security operations and threat detection. 

  • Stay ahead of trends and innovations in security technology to ensure SIE’s systems remain cutting-edge. 

Qualifications 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 

  • 10+ years of experience in physical security technology or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 

  • Proven experience designing and managing large-scale security systems in a corporate or enterprise environment. 

  • Strong technical knowledge of access control systems (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Software House), video surveillance platforms, and alarm systems. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage global programs and work effectively across diverse teams and geographies. 

  • Expertise in project management, with a history of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Professional certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional) or CPP (Certified Protection Professional). 

  • Experience consolidating physical and logical security systems through integrations and automations. 

  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001). 

  • Strong understanding of emerging trends in security technology, including AI, IoT, and cloud-based solutions.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$164,500 - $246,700 USD
