Commercial Manager, Key Accounts

Mexico City

Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Commercial Manager is responsible for the Hardware, Software and Peripheral Categories for key account’ sales. This individual will be accountable for achieving sales targets, maximizing and improving retail space and locations, and handling administrative duties of the position. Will be a strategic member of a dynamic team focused on developing business and strengthening customer relationships.

The Commercial Manager should have some knowledge of the PlayStation brand and product line and be familiar with competitive products, industry trends, and retail environment. The individual has a passion for moving the business forward and building and influencing both internal and external relationships. She/He will be a strategic partner and advisor to the client, discovering new opportunities to work together for mutual benefit.

The goal is to contribute to sustaining and growing our business to achieve PlayStation success.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage Relationship with the Distributor to ensure strategy implementation.
  • Achieve the monthly/quarterly/yearly sales target.
  • Work cross-functionally with functional areas.
  • Support in the construction of commercial strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Retailers to assist them in achieving business goals by successfully marketing products to consumers.
  • Maximize the effectiveness of all PlayStation software and hardware launches by negotiating retail support at the point of sale and across all applicable advertising vehicles.
  • On-going negotiation of an additional floor and other retail space for displays, interactives and promotional materials.
  • Provides input into sales forecast and adjusts sales plans as appropriate to achieve PlayStation goals.
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) and provide strategic guidance for future sales and marketing planning.
  • Development of comprehensive retail activity and promotional calendars tailored to each retail account.
  • Maintain consistently healthy retail inventory levels to maximize sales opportunities
  • Conduct weekly analysis of sell-thru and other markets/account data, and present strategic recommendations based on that analysis.
  • Implement & evaluate effective Retail Marketing campaigns.
  • Maintaining excellent trade relations and customer support for our brands through effective execution of brand strategy in combination with a complete understanding of the customer’s unique needs and the marketplace conditions
  • Preparation and consolidation of weekly and monthly reporting package with sell-in, sell-thru, market share data, pricing information, competitive and market analysis of the assigned accounts.
  • Conduct consistently meetings with each retail buyer to ensure maximization of sales.
  • Collaborate actively with the PlayStation Trade/Channel Marketing team and the Mexico Marcom team to ensure proper implementation of all retail plans and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years experience in sales and management, preferably in consumer electronics or a related field
  • Undergraduate degree in sales, marketing, or communication required, or equivalent related experience. 
  • Strong general knowledge of merchandising, branding, sales analysis, and retail advertising.
  • Creative and energetic teammate who embraces change and a desire to continually improve.
  • Resourceful in finding solutions to business problems. Solid ability to execute on strategic vision with a keen sense to activate tactical initiatives, simultaneously. Innate ability to understand and articulate market performance, analyze, and come to optimized business solutions including tailored promotions and campaigns.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude. Delivery focused. Forward thinking and proven experience in the ability to plan, collaborate, negotiate and come to an optimal business solution. Work across teams and get great results.
  • The candidate must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
