Sr. Planning and Program Manager

San Mateo, CA / Hybrid (*in-office requirement of 2 days per week)

We are seeking a Sr. Program Manager to support the Global Partner Development & Relations (GPDR) leadership team in leading business operations, strategic engagements, and cross-functional initiatives. This role will drive program management efforts, ensuring alignment across GPDR, relevant Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) teams, and Sony Group Corporation. Key responsibilities include facilitating planning, content creation, and strategic frameworks to achieve measurable objectives and KPIs. Additionally, the role will support business modeling, ROI calculations, and investment strategies for internal and partner-facing projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Organize and program manage GPDR business operations across multiple stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams to build commitment and deliver business outcomes.
  • Develop proposals and negotiate key functions, roles and responsibilities with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate on reporting of OKR’s and KPI’s relative to GPDR’s activities via detailed data repositories and high level dashboards
  • Build detailed program timelines, deliverable plans, tracking reports, meeting notes and action items summaries, all subject to audit guidelines and SIE compliance standards
  • Improve organizational and program management tracking rigor to better evaluate Leadership Team and extended leadership team on various projects, strategies and ongoing business activities
  • For certain new business opportunities or organizational structures support GPDR and other SIE teams’ business modelling and strategic value definitions and narratives

You’ll be comfortable with:

  • Providing executive support in ongoing Budget and Planning management
  • Handling high impact programs from end-to-end that affect large cohorts of internal colleagues, ensuring timelines are realistic and delivered
  • Working self-sufficiently on projects, sometimes within ambiguous circumstances and in fast turnaround times
  • Producing high quality presentation materials with a clear and concise narrative, suitable for wide and senior audiences
  • Crafting relationships with internal teams, operating as the authority for your business area
  • Proactively evangelizing the value and importance of the work of our team and division, ensuring appropriate consensus
  • Running internal Sharepoint sites for corporate submissions and for employee information
  • Leading meetings, driving agenda to start and end promptly, and ensure objectives achieved

What we’re looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in business/management consulting, finance in consumer electronics, digital entertainment or video game industry, project management, business planning, business operations or similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for a wide variety of audiences across the business and up to executive level
  • Robust fiscal, organisational and project management capabilities, including the ability to build, lead, and monitor internal budget tracking systems, timelines with inter-related dependencies
  • Experience in establishing and developing programs involving multiple internal functions, preferably at global scale
  • Ability to work through change with both business and employee needs in mind
  • Consistent track record offering appropriate business solutions using data-driven insights
  • Strong collaborative working style to achieve results
  • A long-term strategic planner able to identify and adjust short- and medium-term workflows at pace
  • A passion for getting things done simply and quickly
  • Interest in gaming, gamer culture, digital entertainment and consumer electronics is advantageous
  • Experience of working in a global environment an advantage
  • MBA preferred

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$138,200 - $207,400 USD
