Employee Events & Engagement Manager (Contract)
San Mateo, CA (hybrid) - will require coming into the office 1-2 times per week*

We’re currently seeking a dynamic and creative individual to step into a 6-month contract role as Employee Events & Engagement Manager (AMER). At Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), our Internal Communications & Engagement team is dedicated to connecting and inspiring our global PlayStation workforce. We strive to create seamless and impactful internal experiences that is on par with our external brand. 

In this role, you’ll report to the Director of Global Internal Communications and collaborate closely with a passionate global team. Your mission will be to design and deliver memorable events, foster community, and drive employee engagement initiatives that bring our internal communications strategy to life.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and running of on-site events in our Americas offices, utilizing our network of event champions
  • Event management on-site at our San Mateo HQ
  • Vendor management for engagement and event activity across our AMER offices
  • Support the on-site and virtual celebrations for product releases (e.g. game and hardware releases such as Ghost of Yotei) and community moments (e.g. Halloween, PlayStation’s 30th Anniversary) that engage and excite our employee population
  • Facilitating the ordering and distribution of PlayStation swag regionally, as well as regional competitions and sweepstakes for employees
  • Project managing global engagement initiatives such as global holiday gift distribution

What we're looking for:

  • A passionate candidate with great communication skills
  • Event management background
  • Great stakeholder management
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to build positive partner relationships, enabling effective collaboration 
  • Resilient and bold to ensure initiatives achieve their full benefit
  • Adaptable attitude with the ability to think quickly as situations change / demands alter
  • Proven track record of delivery
  • 4+ years’ experience in events and engagement, preferably within the technology or entertainment industries
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high-profile environment and organizations
     

*PlayStation offers a global hybrid office/remote working model — Flex Modes — which aims to combine the flexibility of remote working with the magic of in-person collaboration. The model is built upon the principle of working together in-person as work requires, with the freedom to work remotely otherwise. At SIE, working with our partners, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$54.04 - $81.06 USD
