Role Overview:

As a Senior Product Manager, you will work within the Central Product Management team at PlayStation Studios. Your primary responsibility is to collaborate with a small central team and other partners (analytics, marketing, etc.) to help build, launch, and manage successful live service games, while helping studios to build out embedded product management capabilities.

Under the mentorship of the Director of Product Management, you will partner closely with multiple teams to use data, insights, user testing, and creative solutions, to inform product feature development and use your craft knowledge to drive product success.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support product management across multiple live and upcoming titles from PlayStation Studios to help effectively build out capabilities and successfully launch and manage their live service titles.
  • Work closely with cross-functional groups across analytics, marketing, and studio partners to prioritise retention and monetization opportunities.
  • Evaluate design specs and mockups, identify and quantify risks, and assess mitigation strategies.
  • Create initial hypothesis tests for new product features and work with analytics, product management and studios to help define key performance indicators and evaluate performance over time.
  • Work with the studios and Director of PM to use performance data to drive recommendations and priorities for product decisions.
  • Communicate product performance to key team members in product management and studio development feature teams, succinctly presenting complex performance data and recommendations.
  • Investigate opportunities for product performance growth for various titles, and support improvement initiatives to a successful outcome through strong analysis and reporting.
  • Provide hands-on support to studios across various core competencies from performance reporting to feature design to live content and market knowledge.
  • Help define and share best practices to support game studios standing up and evolving their processes and capabilities.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in product management for live service games, preferably with experience on AAA Console/PC titles.
  • Proven business and market awareness with strategic and analytical capabilities, using data to inform decisions.
  • Strong data fluency and working experience of partnering with analytics, research, and insights groups.
  • Social intelligence, interpersonal skills, excellent communication and empathy for creative teams.
  • Experience with game economy and/or monetization strategy and experience with analytical tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.).
  • Good understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and scientific methods.
  • Working knowledge of different types of games, genres, and business models (F2P, paid, cosmetic economy, etc.).
  • Ability to understand, conceptualize, and abstract the design of game systems, features, and mechanics, providing recommendations.
  • Experience working with publishing partners (marketing, release management, store, etc.).
  • Deep passion for games and ability to evaluate and break down the components of what makes a successful live game.
