Role overview:

We've an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Trading Manager with a specific focus on retention. This role would suit someone with strong analytical competency, natural ability to solve problems, and a strong commercial sense.  Subscriptions expertise is essential, and the perfect candidate will have a demonstrably strong understanding of factors that influence retention outcomes – from seasonal factors, customer behaviours to payment success.
Strong MS Excel skills and ability to build, interpret and explain performance reporting are also must-haves.

As part of this role, you will be tasked with maintaining and improving our current methodologies to accurately predict & explain short term performance, as well as ad hoc commercial analysis & projects to measure the impact of various activities or external factors. Ultimately this role will be tasked with uncovering trends and opportunities to guide retention strategy. 

The role will sustain multiple touchpoints across the PlayStation Plus business, collaborating closely with commercial colleagues as well as planning and insights, and working closely in collaboration with the commercial retention lead.

 This role sits within the PlayStation Services team who are accountable for the planning, delivery, and measurement of activity to drive growth for PlayStation Plus. 

The role will operate within the Trading team, a subset of the Subscriptions Growth directorate. The Trading team lead on all in-month performance reporting, providing weekly updates with outlook projections and coherent narratives on the factors affecting PS+ growth. The primary goal of the trading team is to keep the wider Services team and senior leadership up to date with the latest performance trends, driving dynamic decision making to reach growth and revenue targets.   

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting delivery of weekly & monthly trading and performance updates for PlayStation Plus
  • Devising innovative solutions for in-month forecasting
  • Interrogating performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Undertaking reactive analysis to understand deviations from the forecast
  • Analysing the commercial impacts of existing initiatives on an ad hoc basis.
  • Recommending actions

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years (or equivalent) proven experience working in a subscription-based analytical or commercial role, with a strong track record of driving insights or business growth
  • Commercially minded, with a solid grasp of business performance metrics and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable working cross-functionally with a wide range of partners across PlayStation
  • Excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex ideas clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences
