Role Overview
As an Infrastructure Analyst, you will play a key role in handling and supporting the IT infrastructure that underpins our PlayStation Studios Services (PSS) operations. You will ensure the availability, performance, and security of servers, storage, and networks across our data centers. This includes collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux).
- Administer storage systems, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Apply system and security updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions ensuring data resilience.
- Supervise infrastructure health, diagnose performance issues, and proactively respond to incidents.
- Support configuration and operation of networking infrastructure, including Juniper-based and wireless technologies.
- Provide application-level support for production tools (e.g., Perforce) and other studio-specific software.
- Collaborate with IT peers across regional and global teams to develop and implement standard methodologies and shared solutions.
- Participate in infrastructure-related projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain awareness of cloud platforms and solutions, understanding their impact on infrastructure operations.
Core Duties
- Ensure infrastructure services align with Studio IT standards (CIS/GIS).
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.
- Support change management, release planning, and validation of new services.
- Contribute to security operations, including patching, threat monitoring, and remediation.
- Maintain documentation, asset records, and configuration details.
- Support business continuity plans and respond to infrastructure-related security incidents.
- Stay aligned with Studio IT information security policies and business continuity processes including the Studio IT calling tree.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to support business operations and infrastructure improvements.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of IT standards and policies.
Skills & Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in infrastructure operations in an enterprise or studio environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of server platforms (Windows, Linux).
- Proficient with Active Directory / LDAP and authentication systems.
- Deep understanding of networking technologies.
- Skilled in managing network storage and backup/recovery systems.
- Experience with virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar) and infrastructure automation (PowerShell/Ansible).
- Familiarity with monitoring (Zabbix) and diagnostic tools.
- Comfortable working within ITIL frameworks including incident, problem, and change management.
- Awareness of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with existing infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superb communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting creative or production environments.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).
- ITIL certification or demonstrable service management experience.
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative team settings.
- Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and implementing remediation plans.
- Understanding compliance requirements relevant to the industry.
