Sr. Product Manager

This role is focused on leading core, user-facing and backend system software initiatives which are critical to the success of the PlayStation platform.

We are looking for a motivated Product Manager who can work with multiple international teams to define the customer experience, workflows, and important metrics & features to support this foundational part of our business. 

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years experience managing and releasing consumer software products and can work cross functionally and cross platform (PC/Mobile/Console). 

This role will include working closely with internal collaborators and development partners to define and implement the strategic roadmap, and build exemplary product experiences end to end.

This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with in-office collaboration. Occasional onsite presence is expected for key activities such as team building, collaborative sessions, and workshops.

Responsibilities:

Product Management

  • Lead User Experience for PlayStation platform core experience features, products and services (e.g. HomeUI, Library ), by developing requirements working with stakeholders across the global business

  • Maintain and communicate the roadmap for the products

  • Prioritize features based on product strategy and global business objectives

  • Ensure features are backed by important metrics and that success is measured on a regular basis

  • Act as Voice of Customer (VoC) to create the strategic vision for platform features

  • Understand and communicate how your product is used in market, based on customer feedback, research and data, feeding back into future requirements and product roadmap

  • Understand and communicate the competitive landscape as it affects PlayStation 

  • Articulate business and consumer rationale to the teams building the product

Collaboration

  • Work closely with design teams to design experience that are usable, feasible, viable, and consistent as Platform.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure we build the right product and ship it at the right time

  • Work closely with Program Management team as they supervise delivery, lead timelines, and resolve blockers/risks

Learn & Improve

  • Continually stay ahead of industry trends, player behavior insights, and emerging technologies to refine your product strategy and vision.

What we are looking for:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent preferred

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager

  • Self-motivated, outcome-driven and proactive 

  • Innovativeness while collaborating on new products, solutions, and features

  • Ability to travel domestic and international when safely able to do so (-15%)

  • Passion for games and gaming industry trends

Experience:

  • Experience in building and shipping technical consumer products

  • Proven experience managing complex product areas with multiple organizational stakeholders 

  • Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional communication and decision-making (Product, Design, Engineering, Business)  balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility in a fast-paced development environment 

  • Comfortable making critical product decisions in collaboration with senior leadership

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to drive forward discussions, especially in ambiguous or challenging situations 

  • High ownership and persistence – someone who can push through obstacles and deliver outcomes 

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills - You will be interacting with all types of people (user experience designers, engineers, managers, vendors, partners, etc.)

  • Worked in an agile/scrum development environment

  • Familiarity with testing/experimentation and other various methodologies

Nice to have 

  • Experience with Atlassian software suite (JIRA/Confluence)

  • Familiarity with telework meetings and tools 

  • Experience shipping at least 3 consumer electronics product or features

  • Experience in Gaming industry

  • Experience working with international teams

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$168,900 - $253,300 USD
