Sr. Manager, Software Engineering

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineering Manager to develop and guide a team of Engineers within the PlayStation Monetization/Commerce space. This system delights and engages users across our many PlayStation platforms, including the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, web, mobile, and beyond. You will be responsible for developing a wide engineering org and creating a productive engineering environment and levelling up your team and our capabilities. You will collaborate with business users, product managers, UX designers and other technical teams across the globe in the execution of our Monetization/Commerce objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading, mentoring, and empowering a growing team of hardworking engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes
  • Establishing a strong and inclusive engineering culture
  • Assist in the delivery of multiple projects across multiple platforms. Helping teams estimate, plan, and slice projects to frequently deliver value to production.
  • Collaborate across business units and product teams spread over multiple timezones execute against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support continuous business improvement
  • Comfort with proactively and independently working towards results in large, distributed team environments.

Qualifications:

  • Overall experience of at least 10 years in the software development industry
  • At least 3-5 years of people management experience, with experience managing multiple teams or one larger team
  • Able to manage, mentor, and empower teams, including other people managers
  • Proven leadership skills and a passion for building, maintaining, and deploying both internal business applications and highly available services
  • Strong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills. The ability to flex communication style to work with business and non-technical users in addition to engineers
  • Ability to balance priorities across multiple projects.
  • Ability to advise and influence technical discussions and decisions.
  • Experience with agile development practices emphasising continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies, and delivering microservices
  • Prior experience with one or more of the following technologies or areas is a plus: React, React Native, personalization, advertising tech, machine learning, data science

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$225,900 - $338,900 USD
