Free To Play Games – Digital Game Sales Manager

San Mateo, California (Remote considered*) or London, UK (Hybrid)

The Direct-to-Consumer Division brings together a team from around the world, with a passion for engaging PlayStation gamers with relevant and entertaining content. This area of Sony Interactive Entertainment has seen significant growth in recent years, becoming a key revenue contributor and continues to evolve with the industry to create new business opportunities. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by being part of a truly global team, working together at the forefront of digital content distribution. With this in mind, we have built a Digital Game Sales (DGS) team who are responsible for working directly with publishers to drive the value proposition of the PlayStation Store.

The Digital Game Sales Manager will identify and implement optimal content lifecycle management strategies, focusing on the platform’s major free to play franchises. They will deliver digital revenue targets via implementation of a joint business planning process and commercial plans. They must work collaboratively, as part of a cross-functional team, to optimize the consumer proposition and deliver key franchise roadmap plans, designed to achieve the delivery of shared commercial objectives globally.

The ideal candidate should be a hardworking and flexible team player, have proven negotiation skills, and a strong analytical mind that thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with assigned accounts to advance the content lifecycle strategy and develop a long-range plan.

  • Drive the achievement of revenue and digital market share targets for key franchises through the implementation of product lifecycle roadmaps.

  • Responsible for utilising data and analytics to support the delivery of revenue targets for key franchises.

  • Secure content and deals with key publishers for inclusion in PS Store promotions as well as new release, live service and lifecycle roadmap initiatives that supports CLM’s strategy.

  • Bring insights and analysis that support the forecasting process and internal/external business performance updates.

  • Manage the digital monetization of the content portfolio for key account(s) and align with counterparts within global partner commerce teams to share knowledge of overall portfolio landscape and strategise best practices.

  • Identify and advise senior leadership of growth opportunities within your accounts.

  • Meet regularly with Global Third Party Relations and other internal partners to ensure alignment with broader platform activities.

  • Responsible to ensure the quality of the end-to-end delivery of digital products to consumers throughout the entire lifecycle with particular focus on seamless product and event launches.

  • Support the forecasting process and internal/external business performance updates.

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years experience of digital retail and / or the digital entertainment industry.

  • Creative & energetic teammate who embraces change and exhibits a desire to continually improve.

  • Strong commercial mindset and able to evidence delivery of targets through joint business planning with partners.

  • Proven track record of using data to curate and shape portfolio offerings that drive the business forwards.

  • Experience of building strong, influential and collaborative relationships within both internal and external teams.

  • Resourceful in finding solutions to business problems.

  • Ability to self-manage and balance multiple projects and priorities.

  • Commercially focused and results driven with a demonstrable data-centric, analytical approach.

  • Track record of successfully growing revenue within a relevant commercial marketplace.

  • Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, sense of humour, and delivery focused to drive results.

  • As the role is global, regular international travel may be required as well as a flexible approach to working hours and ability to work as a part of an international team.

 

As you will be working closely with global and local teams, international travel and calls involving late and early hours due to time zone differences may be required.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$107,800 - $161,800 USD
