Senior Product Manager, Commerce Platform 

Location: San Diego, CA / San Mateo, CA 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Product Manager to join our Product Development team. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of innovative products from concept to launch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, product lifecycle management, and a passion for delivering exceptional products that meet customer needs.

Key Outcomes:

  • Maintain Compliance: Launch new features and UI to comply with Tax, Legal, and Payments Regulatory and card brand rule changes.

  • Increase Purchase Conversion: Own the late-stage product experience across all channels to minimize cart abandonment and maximize purchase completion.

  • Increase Revenue: Launch alternative payment methods and drive adoption of existing payment methods.

  • Improve Customer Paying Experiences: Reduce payments churn, simplify payment flows, localize payments.

  • Support other Monetization teams with compliance initiatives when they intersect with Checkout, Tax or Payments. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Vision & Roadmap: Architect and implement a visionary product roadmap.

  • Planning & Prioritization: Refine and execute a multi year transaction compliance strategy.

  • Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for tax and payment solutions, from ideation and requirements gathering to launch and iteration.

  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with business stakeholders, Customer Support and Finance, Tax and Legal partners to define product requirements and specifications.

  • Product Definition: Own writing of detailed product requirements and designing user flows.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with UI/UX designers, PMO, engineers, QA, and cross-functional teams to translate product strategies into tangible outcomes.

  • Business Alignment: Foster strong relations with the key stakeholders to align on goals, prioritization and roadmap with key stakeholders.

  • Performance Analytics: Provide critical insights into product performance. Understand user's pain points and how to address the gaps.

  • Finger-tippiness with data. You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to leverage this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.

  • Build trust with engineers, UX designers, and other cross-functional teammates.

  • Communicate concisely to influence others and share results when delivering outcomes.

  • Are skilled in the creation of delightful customer experiences (web and console).

  • Have knowledge of the payments domain and e-commerce.

  • Lead and are accountable for product development—from conception to launch—for high-impact projects.

  • Partner with Finance, Marketing, Legal and Tax teams to refine requirements and develop go-to-market strategies and support product launches.

  • Liaise with other teams in Monetization (PS Plus, Search, Personalization, Media Services) to launch new products.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the product development process and enhance team efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in product development.

  • Experience in e-commerce and/or merchant payments- related product areas.

  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management principles and best practices.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for driving results.

  • Highly detail-oriented, multi-tasker, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Outstanding Google Docs, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$154,800 - $232,200 USD
