Manager of Artist Development & Commercial Partnerships AWAL

As the Manager of Artist Development & Commercial Partnerships, you will represent AWAL in Spain, partnering with both local and international artists to drive audience growth and streaming consumption. Your role will span client management and marketing strategy. You should have in-depth knowledge of social algorithms and will act as an in-house expert in deploying strategies across content, influencers, creators, and media pages in support of artists’ development locally.

In addition, the ideal candidate will be results-driven and ambitious, with a passion for music and artists. They will also have the ability to build trusted, creative relationships with artists and partners, championing the AWAL brand in the market and delivering on our mission to partner with independent artists to tell stories that shape culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee approvals and updates of digital releases
  • Liaise with other departments (e.g., Finance, BA) to holistically support artists’ needs
  • Provide operational support to artists using the AWAL Suite
  • Advise local AWAL artists on marketing strategy, release planning, and content creation, leveraging best practices from AWAL and local Sony teams
  • Manage campaign budgets where appropriate, including the creation of POs
  • Track content trends, social conversations, and key cultural events (e.g., festivals and seasonal patterns locally) with a focus on identifying opportunities to drive artist discovery through content and promo for both new releases and catalog
  • Share insights on local trends with the International Marketing team to inform strategies for the global AWAL Recordings roster
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local content and social media platforms (e.g.,TikTok), creating opportunities for AWAL artists in the market
  • Develop and foster relationships with influencers, content creators, podcasts, radio, and media pages across a wide variety of genres and content verticals. Source and maintain a roster of bestin- class influencer and content creation agencies, platforms, and tools
  • Coordinate promotion teams for local roster and international priorities
  • Generate regular reporting on artist campaign progress

Who You Are:

  • 3–5 years experience with a record company or an agency/platform for music marketing
  • Proven track record of marketing campaigns for local acts (additional experience with international artists is a plus)
  • Sound knowledge of the current music market locally, including both traditional media and new platforms, and a firm understanding of artist development
  • Proficient knowledge of the local and global digital landscape including social media platforms, DSP ecosystem, digital marketing, and data analytics
  • Strong network of relationships with influencers, creatives, social platforms, and digital agencies within the local music market
  • Entrepreneurial, creative outlook with a strong team spirit
  • Love of music and appreciation of all music genres
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
