About the role:
The Nuclear Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Services to lead and grow our services business line. This executive leadership role will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of our comprehensive suite of services offered to nuclear power plant operators and new nuclear project deployment.
The Head of Services will have overall responsibility for developing and executing the strategy for our services division, encompassing areas such as maintenance, modifications, outage support, engineering services, fuel services, and digital solutions. This role will drive revenue growth, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, maintain strong safety and quality standards, and foster a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the nuclear power industry, a proven track record of leading and growing service-oriented businesses, and strong executive leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the Nuclear Services division, aligned with the overall company strategy and market opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our service offerings and customer base within the nuclear energy sector.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation in service delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the nuclear power plant operating companies.
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery:
- Oversee the efficient and effective delivery of all nuclear services, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Develop and implement best practices, processes, and technologies to optimize service delivery and improve efficiency.
- Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Financial Performance & Profitability:
- Manage the P&L for the Nuclear Services division, achieve revenue targets, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage pricing strategies for service offerings.
Team Leadership & Talent Development:
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of service professionals, including project managers, engineers, technicians, and sales/business development personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and customer focus within the services organization.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for team members.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Act as a point of escalation for customer issues and ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Gather customer feedback and use it to improve service offerings and delivery.
Safety & Quality Culture:
- Champion a strong safety and quality culture within the Nuclear Services division, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and quality assurance processes.
- Promote a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement in all service activities.
Collaboration & Internal Partnerships:
- Collaborate effectively with other internal departments, including engineering, technology development, and sales, to ensure integrated solutions for customers.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or related), Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in the nuclear energy sector, with a significant focus on providing services to nuclear power plants.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and growing a service-oriented business unit or division.
- Deep understanding of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success in business development and building strong customer relationships within the nuclear industry.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Proven ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of operational excellence principles and service delivery best practices.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Licensed Senior Reactor Operator
- Experience in nuclear plant outage and work management
- Executive experience w large utility or nuclear services organization

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $250,000 - $279,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
