About the role:
The Nuclear Company is hiring for a Communications Manager to join our team and help us tell our story. We're a hyper-growth tech startup in the nuclear power space, building the next generation of safe, sustainable reactors. You'll work closely with our executive team to translate complex technical information into compelling narratives for a wide range of audiences.
We need a strategic and creative leader who can build our communications function from the ground up, manage media relations, and ensure our message is consistent and clear.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Strategy: You’ll lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our business objectives and brand identity. This includes managing our external communications, public relations, media outreach, and internal communications.
- Media and Public Relations: You’ll be our primary point of contact for the media. This involves building relationships with journalists and industry analysts, responding to inquiries, and managing our corporate messaging and public image.
- Content Creation: You’ll be responsible for creating and writing compelling content for various channels, including press releases, blog posts, white papers, presentations, and social media. You’ll work with our technical experts to translate complex topics into accessible content.
- Internal Communications: You’ll foster a culture of transparency and collaboration by managing our internal communications. This includes drafting internal memos, organizing town halls, and ensuring employees are informed about company news and milestones.
- Crisis Management: You’ll be prepared to act as a key spokesperson during any crisis, with a clear understanding of the regulatory environment and a calm, reassuring presence.
Experience
- Experience: You’ll have 5+ years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably at a high-growth tech company. Experience in the nuclear energy space or a highly regulated industry is a plus.
- Communication Skills: You’ll be an exceptional writer and a compelling storyteller, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences. You’ll be able to communicate effectively in both a technical and non-technical setting.
- Strategic Thinking: You’ll be a natural problem-solver with a strong ability to think strategically and respond proactively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability: You’ll have the ability to thrive in a fluid and dynamic startup environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Technical Acumen: You’ll have a strong interest in and a foundational understanding of nuclear energy or another complex scientific field. You’ll be able to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate them for the public.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
