ABOUT THE TEAM

As a Business Development Executive you’ll be entrepreneurial, target oriented and passionate about helping small businesses. Working in a fast-paced, ever changing environment will excite you along with an interest in the fintech industry and all that we are doing to save small business owners time and money. You’ll be target focused and confident at handling objections to achieve your revenue goals. You’ll also have an excellent telephone manner, will be outgoing and thrive working in a close-knit team. You’ll possess excellent commercial awareness, constantly seeking new opportunities to generate revenue, and will be happy in a field sales role approaching prospects in person. Passion, drive and enthusiasm are a must.


ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role in driving our company’s growth by converting interested business prospects into satisfied platform users and generating new revenue opportunities. 

Specializing in business payment solutions, you will guide small business owners on selecting the most suitable EPOS and card reader devices tailored to their unique operational requirements. Your primary objective will be to ensure each client implements the best-fit payment solution to streamline their transaction processes, facilitate efficient payment acceptance, and support both their daily operations and long-term business growth.

As a Business Development Executive you’ll be entrepreneurial, target oriented and passionate about helping small businesses. Working in a fast-paced, ever changing environment will excite you along with an interest in the fintech industry and all that we are doing to save small business owners time and money. You will act as a trusted subject matter expert, guiding business owners through our portfolio of EPOS and card reader devices. Your expertise will be crucial in helping them select the right tools to streamline their payment acceptance, enhance day-to-day operations, and support their long-term expansion.

As a Business Development Executive:

1) Payment Solutions Expertise:

  • Identify and approach potential business clients who can benefit from card reader solutions, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), retailers, cafes, restaurants and other service-oriented businesses.
  • Demonstrate the features and advantages of our card reader products, clearly explaining how they streamline payment acceptance, improve transaction security, and help businesses grow.
  • Conduct product demonstrations virtually—to educate clients on setup, usage.
  • Address client questions and concerns regarding technical functionality, pricing, and compatibility, providing expert guidance to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Upsell and cross-sell by identifying clients' operational needs and recommending additional card reader solutions where appropriate.
  • Support clients through the purchase and onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition from initial interest to activation and usage.
  • Maintain regular follow-ups with interested prospects to convert leads into successful sales.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales targets for card readers while contributing to overall team success.
  • Stay up to date on the latest product developments and industry trends to effectively position the card reader in a competitive market.

2) Conversion:

  • Reach out to potential business clients who have expressed initial interest in our services but have not yet completed the sign-up process.
  • Guide prospects through our onboarding journey, addressing their queries and using your consultative selling skills to demonstrate the value of our business payment solutions and drive successful conversions.
  • Coordinate with the KYC team to ensure clients provide the necessary documentation, and proactively resolve any onboarding challenges by leveraging your strong technical acumen.
  • Play a key role in the end-to-end acquisition process, ensuring a smooth transition for new clients into fully engaged platform users.

3) Revenue:

  • Proactively engage with prospective and existing business clients to understand their business operations and payment processing needs.
  • Establish strong relationships and effectively communicate the advantages of our payment solutions, including Tide card readers to potential clients.
  • Operate in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, consistently striving to meet and exceed both individual and team sales targets.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to stay updated on upcoming product launches, ensuring you can confidently present these solutions to clients.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales strategies, participating in the testing and refinement of new lead generation approaches and sales scripts to support growth across emerging business areas.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—in English.
  • Proven telesales experience, preferably in financial services or payment systems (e.g., POS terminals, card readers, merchant services)
  • You are passionate about sales, focused on revenue generation, and skilled in up-selling.
  • You are target-oriented and comfortable working towards ambitious sales goals.
  • You quickly adapt to new situations and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • You excel at troubleshooting and maintain a customer-first mindset.
  • You clearly communicate onboarding steps to clients, tailoring your approach to different business types, efficiently and within tight deadlines.
  • You are a team player and willing to support the KYC Analyst Team with ad hoc tasks.
  • You are self-motivated, conscientious, and eager to make a real business impact.
  • You readily listen, learn, and adapt in response to feedback.
  • Bonus: You possess knowledge of compliance, KYC, AML regulations, or have experience with fintech or digital banking.
