About the job
Join the team as Twilio’s next Senior Manager, Physical Security Technology responsible for evolving and maturing Twilio’s Physical Security infrastructure to strengthen the foundation of our overall security posture and enable the safety and security of our people and assets worldwide. This team is evolving to meet the needs of an open work environment which creates unique challenges. This position is needed to optimize our existing technology and develop strategies to strengthen our existing foundation to support the needs of a multinational business. This means bringing in strong leadership experience and broad knowledge of physical security systems, solutions, and integrated applications to secure people and facilities in compliance with physical security design standards, and quickly embed, and collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Corporate Safety & Security.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of specialists, contract vendors, and integrators responsible for physical security technology design, implementation, upgrades, and assessments
- Maintain team proficiency and certifications in best-in-class physical security systems and technology
- Provide leadership and guidance to internal stakeholders responsible for functions related to security technology project management, service administration, delivery, and maintenance
- Continually develop, assess and define physical security design, engineering, and security systems standards, and audit compliance with expected physical and environmental protection standards
- Conduct risk/threat vulnerability assessments to determine gaps and design, plan, and budget for mitigations to provide the appropriate level of protection
- Maintain personal effectiveness by keeping up with the trends and technology in the industry and by personal development activities
- Identify potential risks through engagement with internal and external partners
- Manage and evaluate vendor performance and services and assist in sourcing in the development of Master Service Agreements when required

*Required:
- 10+ years of experience in the physical security engineering discipline
- 8+ years experience in developing professionals within the physical security engineering expertise and implementing, and improving global physical security infrastructure, standards, and regulations
- Specialized technical certifications in current physical security technology and systems (access control and video management technology)
- Significant experience as a government or corporate technical security officer or technician overseeing facility security design implementation, installation, and maintenance of physical security systems, technology and threat mitigation solutions in a global critical infrastructure environment
- Experience with architectural design drawings and construction processes to include cabling, electrical circuits and low voltage applications, and ADA
- Experience configuring and administering 3rd-party physical security software solutions
- High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
- Experience interfacing and collaborating with executives, peers, regulatory agencies, and external clients to develop solutions and gain consensus
- Experience conceptualizing and executing on numerous initiatives and balancing competing priorities
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, and leading high-performing team members
- Experience in building relationships and partnering broadly
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Desired:
- Broad understanding of Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF), ISO27001, and critical infrastructure protection requirements, physical security technology controls, innovative mitigation tactics, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Experience and in-depth understanding of sourcing and procurement models, tools, processes, and policies in a program/project/contract manager role
- Fluency with data optimization, aggregation, anomaly detection, geolocation tools
- Fluency in Google Suite, Confluence, Tableau, Splunk, ServiceNow
- Understanding of VLANs, DHCP, and network scanning and mapping, and special applications in a corporate environment

Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

Compensation
*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $152,000 - $190,000
- Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $161,000 - $201,000
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $179,000 - $224,000
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
