About This Role

We are looking for Product Designers to join our growing design team and help shape how homeowners and servicing teams experience Valon’s platform.

You will be embedded into one of our product areas and work alongside senior designers, product managers, and engineers to design technically complex SaaS and internal tools that drive operational clarity and improve user experiences.

You’ll contribute across all phases of the product development process — from early exploration to polished execution — and help ensure quality through design QA, critiques, and reviews. As one of our earlier design hires, you will have an outsized opportunity to influence both the craft and culture of the Valon Design team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with PM, Eng, CX, and Ops partners to design high-quality product experiences.
  • Flex across squads as needed to deliver simple solutions to complex workflows.
  • Design user flows, wireframes, interaction patterns, and a polished UI that meet user and business needs.
  • Contribute to system thinking by reusing and evolving components and patterns.
  • Participate in regular design reviews, shaping discussions, and QA processes to ensure design quality through launch.
  • Balance quick iteration with thoughtful design, depending on the project's needs.
  • Design with consideration for LLM/AI/automation workflows when relevant.

Required Background

  • 2–4 years of professional product design experience, ideally within SaaS, enterprise, or internal tooling environments.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing product thinking, interaction design, and shipped work in technically complex domains.
  • Ability to work flexibly — sometimes solo, sometimes with a senior designer, depending on project scale.
  • Deep craft skills in visual and interaction design, with attention to hierarchy, usability, and clarity.
  • Comfortable contributing to systemized UI patterns and evolving design systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills — clear communicator, seeks feedback, and is team-oriented.

Bonus Points For

  • Familiarity with LLM/Generative AI tools.
  • Experience in fintech, enterprise SaaS, or platform-level product design.

This Base Compensation pay range applies to our New York City located staff and may differ according to location.

$124,500 - $155,500 USD
