AI Governance Project Manager

We're looking for a strategic and detail-oriented AI Governance Project Manager to lead the development and rollout of governance practices across Vonage’s growing suite of AI products and services. Your key responsibilities:
- Act as a central coordination point for AI governance across Vonage, working with IT, InfoSec, Legal, Architecture, Engineering, and Product teams to evaluate AI initiatives from a risk and compliance lens.
- Review and triage incoming AI-related requests from different business units, including cross-functional and technical teams, and assess the potential risks and implications of AI use in each case.
- Determine the acceptability of AI-related risks, collaborating closely with AI Product Managers, engineering leads, and the AI Governance Council to ensure requests align with company policies and external regulations.
- Facilitate governance reviews, stakeholder meetings, and manage the full AI request funnel, ensuring visibility, accountability, and timely closure of requests across the organization.
- Provide clear categorization, documentation, and status updates of AI governance activities to stakeholders across multiple BUs.
What you'll bring
- A strong background in project or program management with at least 5+ years of experience, ideally in AI, compliance, or data governance.
- A working understanding of AI/ML concepts, including explainability, bias, data lineage, and model lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with AI regulatory landscapes such as the EU AI Act, GDPR, and emerging global frameworks.
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams toward a common governance framework.
- Comfort with technical documentation and ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable plans.
