
(RD) Product Manager

Designed and built for banking, Identity is the security at the centre of the AI-powered Digital Banking platform from Backbase. We bring together the best technologies, security standards and fintechs into an integrated platform - responsible for securing the daily digital banking needs of millions of people across the globe.
As a Product Manager for Backbase Identity, you’ll drive the evolution of our mobile Digital Identity platform as a critical element of the Backbase Digital Banking offering. You will be a product expert for the capabilities, journeys and technologies that secure our digital banking solution, from biometrics and FIDO2, to the best-in-class fintechs we integrate, across the complete user lifecycle. It is your job to understand the needs of Backbase customers, and manage your set of capabilities through the product lifecycle: from defining new requirements to creating the first prototype, to launching the new features with real customers in production, and taking care of product support and maintenance.
You are a customer-obsessed, and bring a mix of technical, business and UX know-how to your teams. You bring a startup mentality to product development, you stay focused on a constant cycle of feedback and aim to bring the most value to our customers with minimal effort. You strive to help your team members in doing their best work and are empowered by new ideas and creativity.
Meet the job
- You are a digital native with an entrepreneurial background. Besides this, you know enough tech to talk tech, and enough UX to talk UX.
- You work collaboratively with your engineering squad to enable them to solve the right problems at the right time, with your Engineering Manager as your leadership partner to ensure effective delivery across the product life cycle.
- You are familiar with APIs and software architecture concepts and can collaborate with architects and engineers to solve complex problems in a pragmatic way;
- You confidently work with AI - applying it to augment your work as PM, to accelerate and enable your team, and to elevate your product.
- You understand your stakeholders and ensure you can translate their requirements into meaningful outcomes to solve issues whilst keeping stakeholders informed throughout, their success is your success!
- You know how to bring value to an MVP or prototype and iterate to deliver value to the product;
- Be a product evangelist! You make sure everybody knows about & understands your product. Engage with customers and internal stakeholders, to inform, upskill and demonstrate the capabilities and features on offer.
- You facilitate open feedback loops with teams utilizing and building on your product. Helping them succeed in implementing your product and achieve their objectives.
- Take care of the whole product life-cycle, from the creation of new features to the decommission of older unused ones.
- Trend master, you are a keen follower of market trends, technologies, security standards and regulations, and can translate those into your strategies and roadmaps.

- You have good leadership skills to guide and inspire your team
- You know when it’s time to celebrate and unwind with your team.
- You have a minimum of two years experience analyzing, capturing and structuring software product requirements in a Business Analyst or Product Manager role;
- Experience or knowledge in the digital banking domain is preferred
- Experience in bringing mobile applications to life is preferred, but not essential
- Working knowledge of digital identity, authentication, security technologies, and associated industry standards would be seen as a strong benefit;
