Responsibilities

At Workato, we’re pioneering the future of work and democratizing enterprise automation. We’re looking for talented and experienced designers to help turn our vision into reality. You’ll join a global product team working across the United States, Europe, Singapore and India. The Product Design team is a team of passionate UX Designers, Digital Designers, Content Designers and Researchers with a big voice in Workato’s most strategic, important initiatives. If you love working on complex problems, have experience working in cross-functional teams towards the simplest design solution, and are passionate about solving complex problems and working with great people, you’ll fit right in! 

We’re looking for a seasoned and experienced Digital Design Manager to lead a small but mighty team of two Digital Designers. Your team will be embedded within the Product Design team and act as the bridge between Workato’s global product organization and our customers. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to define Workato’s creative identity both inside and outside the product. Your team’s impact will be wide-ranging, working on content for YouTube, live streams, conference decks, in-product guides and illustrations.

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

  • Be a player-coach, leading a team of 2 digital designers.

  • Manage the workload and growth of the designers on your team, as well as actively contribute to design tasks whenever needed.

  • Collaborate with the Product Management and product-led growth teams across Workato’s global workforce.

  • Develop a unique visual identity that’s synergetic with the Workato brand language and product design system.

  • Collaborate with your team and the product design leaders and participate in critiques, iterate on feedback and.

  • Own the design and delivery of a range of content, including YouTube videos for Product Hour, presentation decks for our customer-facing roadmap sessions and conferences, and digital marketing campaigns.

  • Own the design and delivery of in-product assets, including product illustrations and Pendo guides.

  • Own the design and delivery of assets for our product blog and documentation website, including illustrations and gifs for blog articles, visual assets for our product docs pages, as well as the website design for our documentation site.

  • Keep up with industry standards, and continually refine and innovate on our product perception and creative language.

  • Own processes and streamline workload distribution for your team.

  • Use collaborative communication tools like Slack, Figma, Jira and Adobe Creative Cloud to work closely with colleagues across different projects and time zones.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Soft Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Manager or a Team Lead leading a team of 2-3 digital designers.

  • Have experience creating a wide range of creative assets for tech products (videos, animations, icons, utility items, gifs, presentation decks etc.).

  • Have a portfolio that demonstrates your skills in presentation design, videography, animation, illustration and icon design. Experience working with tech products & in the enterprise space is a bonus.

  • Have an extremely high bar for quality, and pay attention to the smallest details.

  • Have strong communication skills – verbal, interpersonal and written.

  • Have proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, Figma and Google Slides.

  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

  • Portfolio requirements: we’re looking for a portfolio that shows your skills in illustration, icon design, presentation decks and user interface designs, along with examples of animation and videography.

For California applicants, the pay for this role begins at $120,000 (and can go up based on the experience), plus benefits, perks, and equity.
