WPP SSC (Shared Service Centre) is on a global transformation journey, and this is an opportunity to join the UK team to help us deliver exceptional financial services to our UK companies.

 

What you'll be doing:

The Accounts Receivable Department consists of Credit Control, Cash Allocation and Media Billing teams. The Credit Control team is made up of 3 Senior Credit Controllers, 12 Credit Controllers and 1 Reporting Analyst.  Your team will be collecting around £350m each month, across 1650 external ‘Blue-Chip’ clients, and on behalf of 40+ internal companies.

You will manage the cash collection for a portfolio of clients as well as producing detailed commentary for daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

You will report into a Senior Credit Controller.

  • Collection of payment for a dedicated debtor ledger and for sending statements to clients.
  • Use the Credit Control tool 'Get Paid' to chase clients to ensure that payment is made to contractual terms and to meet collection targets.
  • Establish/update contacts where necessary at client and agency level.
  • Identify any issues which may delay payment and escalate to the appropriate contact.
  • Provide debtor commentary for weekly and month-end reporting.
  • Attend weekly debtor calls with agencies to discuss current position and concerns on top accounts.
  • Complete cashflow forecasts twice a month.
  • Attend client and agency meetings where required.
  • Ensure the integrity of notes and documentation.

 

What you'll need:

  • Expereince within a finance related role.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles relating to the sales ledger.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office at intermediate to advanced level).
