Energy & Utility Manager - West APAC

As the Manager Energy & Utility Manager – West APAC you will report to the Director – Energy & Utility and work closely with the rest of the Energy and Technology team to shape and implement our energy strategy to support AirTrunk’s continue growth. You will work with the leading global internet and technology companies, as well as the largest utilities, energy and renewable providers in the region, and make a massive difference to how we source and use energy.

You will make your mark in a number of ways for AirTrunk’s data centers in the region:

• Manage the power feasibility study and grid connection process for new data center deployments in Southeast Asia, South Asia and other APAC regions, with respect to power availability, grid connection process, connection agreements etc.
• Manage utility grid connections and applications including load projections, application reviews, commercial budgets of connection cost etc
• Build strong relations and interface with utility and energy partners
• Support the Design and Development teams in the utility engagement during the supply design, planning, procurement and construction stages
• Manage energy procurement projects (choice of energy supplier, tariff optimisation, market price analysis, demand response etc) for AirTrunk’s data center
• Develop renewable energy sourcing options and other sustainability initiatives in alignment with AirTrunk customer requirements
• Build and manage strong relationships with utilities, retailers, technical consultants and other energy stakeholders

The role will be based at AirTrunk’s Singapore office.

Your Day to Day

• Engage with grid companies, utilities and energy retailers
• Plan and project manage energy projects (grid connection, renewable supply etc)
• Engage with our customers to identify and meet energy requirements
• Collaborate with our Design, Site Selection and Development teams on utility needs
• Create and present summary reports in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Join regular team meetings and progress updates

Requirements:

• 5 years of relevant experience e.g. grid power planning or design, energy project development, energy consulting, energy networks, energy supply, energy procurement
• Strong understanding of the utility and electricity market in the region – experience in Malaysia an advantage
• Basic understanding and experience with EHV electrical infrastructure and design
• Commercial, business and energy market acumen is strongly desired
• Strong analytical thinking and comfortable with data analysis and presentation (especially in PowerPoint and Excel)
• High level of motivation to learn and grow in the role
