
Forge and Foundry Simulation Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Simulation Activities:
- Use Foundry Simulation Software like Magmasoft/Autodesk to analyze casting processes and provide optimization, including Thermal Distribution, Solidification, and Scrap Reduction.
Process Optimization:
- Cross-functional meetings with the foundry team members to implement simulation-driven improvements, enhancing efficiency and reducing defect rates.
- Part Design & Improvements:
- Ability to compile, predict, and interpret data from various sources (simulation, FEA, deviation reports, etc.) to validate and improve casting parameters.
Tooling & Design Support:
- Support to develop 3D models and core designs to enhance manufacturability.
Project Management:
- Track key activities and key performance indicators related to the Simulation Role and oversee these processes as per the defined timeline.
Issue Resolution:
- Take ownership of the key issues during the simulation phase of the launch and resolve them by working with stakeholders, understanding the issue management process and governance.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Foundry Engineering Experience: Preferably in High Pressure Die-Casting (HPDC) – 3+ years.
- Simulation Software Experience: Hands-on experience in Foundry Simulation software – 2+ years of Magmasoft or equivalent.
Process Engineering:
- Experience in defect analysis, scrap reduction, and quality improvement – 4+ years.
- Project Management & Analytics: Experience with analytics and Six Sigma principles – 4+ years.
- CAD & 3D Modeling: Knowledge of 3D modeling, CAD software – 2+ years.
