About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
The role will report to the Global Compliance Lead and be responsible for supporting all regulatory requirements related to the maintenance of our payments license in Singapore. That will include managing liaison with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), responding to requests for information and developing a strong, collaborative relationship. Internally, it will involve providing advice to the business on all regulatory matters including conducting horizon scanning to stay ahead of new or updated regulations or best practice.
Key responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor, interpret, and implement regulatory requirements under the Payments Services Act and relevant Notices applicable to the licence
- Manage all regulatory liaison, including responding to requests for information and developing a strong collaborative relationship with MAS
- Design and implement robust regulatory reporting mechanisms for regular data submissions to the regulator
- Conduct horizon scanning and support the business in complying with new or updated regulatory requirements and best practice
Policy Development and Oversight
- Develop, review and maintain policies, standard operating procedures, and internal controls for regulatory compliance with the Payment Services Act
- Ensure employees are trained on the regulatory and compliance requirements
Compliance Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain a key obligations register and provide regular updates for senior management and regulatory bodies as needed
- Assist in internal and external audits of compliance and regulatory processes and procedures.
- Track and address compliance breaches promptly and effectively
- Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role within fintech, payments, or financial services
- Familiarity of the payments industry and the relevant regulations in Singapore such as the Payment Services Act
- Proven ability to manage regulatory filings, audits, and implement compliance frameworks effectively
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for driving regulatory excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CAMS or ICA
- Previous experience communicating and liaising with Monetary Authority of Singapore
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau
