THE ROLE

Based in New York, Burson seeks a highly analytical and strategic Vice President of Corporate Financial Strategy to partner with the Global CFO and other key senior executives on high-impact projects that drive financial performance and operational excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your financial and technical skillset in a dynamic, global communications environment. You will play a critical role in developing and refining key performance indicators (KPIs), building and maintaining financial models, and evolving reporting processes to provide actionable insights to leadership. This position will collaborate closely with global finance team and contribute to the ongoing success of Burson.

THE WORK

  • Strategic & Agile ThinkingAble to decipher trends through data, distill complex information, and communicate findings clearly and concisely. Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and comfortable adapting to evolving priorities.
  • Analysis: Possess strong organizational skills and a consistent, methodical approach to work. Demonstrate proficiency in financial modeling, including Excel and VBA/macros as well as an understanding of basic finance and accounting concepts and principles.
  • Relationship Building: Display excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships. Effectively communicate complex solutions to cross-functional teams and upper management.
  • Financial Reporting: Leverage advanced presentation skills, including experience with visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) and financial reporting systems (SAP BFC, Hyperion, Oracle, etc).
  • Project Support: Collaborate with the EVP and other key executives on high-impact projects, providing financial modeling, analysis, and strategic recommendations.
  • Forecasting & Model Maintenance: Oversee the development and maintenance of financial forecast models, budget models, and databases. Ensure rigorous analysis and accuracy in financial projections on a project-by-project basis.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends in relevant industries and integrate these insights into regular reporting and strategic discussions.
  • KPI Development & Reporting: Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of KPIs to measure financial and operational success. Regularly report on KPI performance to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Reporting Enhancement: Evolve internal and external reporting content and processes, designing a framework that provides stakeholders with clear and concise insights into KPIs and business performance.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate and implement tools, systems, and processes to enhance financial and operational planning effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Global Collaboration: Collaborate with members of the Worldwide Headquarters Finance group and local finance teams in Asia-Pacific, EMEA, Latin America, and North America.
  • Effective communication: Addressing financial performance, operational updates, and key initiatives to internal stakeholders and leaders.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis to drive financial results and address immediate business needs.

EXPERIENCE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO SUCCESS

  • 10+ years as a market analyst, management consultant, or corporate strategist in finance and/or operations, ideally within a global professional services firm, agency environment, or similar industry.
  • Established track record of success in advising and informing finance and operations leads.
  • Understanding of the billable agency environment and the financial and operational challenges and opportunities it presents.
  • Experience with M&A and integration is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of technology and its impact on business operations, particularly in financial systems, data analytics, and automation.
  • Sound communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Skilled and excited about working in a fast-paced, change-focused organization while modeling Burson values of craft, curiosity, camaraderie, and counsel.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $75,000 to $180,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
