Intern, Investment Data Management

Our Toronto-based Investment Data Management team is seeking to hire an Intern for September to December 2026.  

The Investment Data Management Team (IDM) resides within the middle office and is responsible for managing data-centric processes and data quality that support the investment management business. Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. (CCLFG) manages a wide range of global assets and heavily relies on the output of the team for a variety of functions from the front office to the back office. This is a Toronto-based role that offers flexibility between working from home and the office.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will work closely with a wide range of investment operations business units across the middle and back office. You will apply your financial and technical knowledge while contributing to the broader investment operations process. You will support the day-to-day maintenance, validation, and analysis of investment data while learning how data flows through different investment operations. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues on process improvements and data investigations.

  • Security Master: Support the maintenance and validation of equity, fixed income, and derivative data across multiple systems and databases to enable investment manager modeling, trading, and risk monitoring.
  • Process Support: Assist with monitoring scheduled processes for vendor systems, internal and market data transfers, valuations, and benchmarking data inputs that support the investment process.
  • Data Quality: Help investigate data-quality issues and exceptions and support their timely resolution.
  • Stakeholder Support: Respond to data and reporting requests from internal business partners with guidance from team members.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve workflows, data quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Team Support: Support the team with ad hoc analysis, documentation, and project work as needed.

What You Bring 

  • Education – You are pursuing a degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Industry Knowledge – Relevant coursework, academic projects, co-op terms, or internship experience related to finance, data, or business operations would be an asset. Experience with Bloomberg, FTSE, ICE Bond Edge, Charles River and related financial tools is helpful, but not required.
  • Problem Solver / Technical – You are analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy solving problems in a structured way. You are comfortable learning new systems and working with data tools.
  • Collaborative – You communicate clearly, work well with others, and are comfortable asking questions.
  • Self-Motivated – You are organized, dependable, and able to manage tasks in a fast-paced team environment. You bring strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset – You look for opportunities to improve processes and contribute thoughtful ideas.

The target salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 per year. This role also includes a flexible hybrid work arrangement—three days in the office and two days working from home—to accommodate both business objectives and individual preferences.
