Pricing Analyst
Copper River Strategies is seeking a Pricing Analyst responsible for developing compliant cost models and effective pricing strategies for proposals/quotes by collaborating with the business development, capture, proposal, human resources, and finance departments. The Pricing Analyst supports the development of cost proposals and pricing strategies for federal government solicitations. Working closely with Business Development, Contracts, Finance, Human Resources, and Proposal Teams, this role ensures cost proposals are accurate, compliant, and aligned with solicitation requirements. The analyst will use tools such as Deltek Costpoint and Microsoft Excel to support pricing tasks and gain experience in federal pricing strategies.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Develop cost models for proposal submissions using Excel in compliance with RFP requirements.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and Recruiting to gather labor categories, compensation data, and indirect rates for pricing inputs.
- Support the preparation of Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation.
- Develop pricing for various contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), and Cost Plus (CP).
- Help track and maintain a repository of pricing templates and past proposals for reuse and consistency.
- Support research on market rates, historical pricing, and indirect cost comparisons to ensure competitiveness.
- Collaborate with capture management to ensure timely and accurate completion of pricing deliverables.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of competitor pricing trends and contribute to team pricing strategies.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge/Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience supporting federal government pricing, contracts, or finance departments.
- Familiarity with federal contracting and proposal processes required.
- Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint or similar accounting software preferred.
- Experience supporting FFP, T&M, and/or CP proposals.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including use of formulas and pivot tables.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to learn pricing tools and cost modeling techniques quickly.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
