About the Position 

Energy Exemplar is the market leader in Energy Simulation Software. We exist so that our customers can make the most informed decisions at the most impactful times and want you to be part of that success.  

We are calling technical leaders who love building products, innovating, prototyping, and providing exceptional user experiences. As a leader in this space, you’llbe responsible for delivering high-performing, scalable, cloud-based solutions using .NET while also driving innovative Generative AI initiatives. You’ll focus on solving complex technical challenges, managing product development life cycles, and contributing to our GenAI transformation strategy.   

You’ll collaborate deeply with product, data, and AI/ML teams to shape how GenAI can augment product capabilities, enhance workflows, and deliver intelligence at scale. If you're excited about the intersection of engineering leadership, modern product development, and the potential of GenAI, this is the role for you.  

You will learn the various technologies and architectural patterns employed by the architecture team and contribute to its continued development and maintenance. 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also help triage Tier 4 cloud support cases. You will take the lead in helping improve the overall efficiency of resolving customer issues and help get the right team members involved for each case.  

 

Cloud Architecture and Development 

  • Ensure quality of Architecture and design of systems 
  • Champion the integration of GenAI capabilities into existing and new products  
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, Customer Support, and Sales to define and deliver impactful GenAI features.  
  • Implement product features in existing and new services that make up the PLEXOS Cloud Platform 
  • Work collaboratively with development teams to translate existing solutions to a cloud platform 
  • Translate high level abstract business requirements into Cloud specific software design 
  • Follow best engineering practices to ensure scalable, reliable and performant software solutions and ensure compliance to software quality standards 

Customer Support 

  • Work collaboratively with the Customer Support team to successfully process Tier 4 support cases 
  • Work collaboratively with the Global Product Development Team to ensure customers are supported in current cloud platforms and future releases 
  • Our Architecture team is multi-national, and the ideal candidate will work across most time zones 

 
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications  

  • Minimum 8+ years of recent experience in building cloud products 
  • Experience leading GenAI or AI/ML-powered product initiatives  
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM tuning, or working with foundation models  
  • Practical exposure to Big Data, Machine Learning, or GenAI technologies such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, or similar tools  
  • Data Engineering expertise with strong experience working with Python 
  • Knowledge with cloud-based data technologies such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Bricks is optionally desirable. 
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft and .NET technology stack 
  • C#, Asp Net Core, Entity Framework Core, Unit Testing, Logging/App insights  
  • Strong knowledge with Database technologies (i.e. SQL Server, Duck DB, Parquet)  
  • Strong experience in architecting and building distributed systems 
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance 
  • Experience with Microservices Architecture 
  • Hands on experience with Azure or AWS 
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment 
  • Proven ability to influence others and strong analytical thinking skills 
  • Hands on experience of deploying products for both Linux and Windows 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • BE/BTech in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
