Geotab is seeking a Team Lead, Solutions Engineering who will be responsible for guiding and assisting a Solutions Engineering Team, supporting all team endeavors including leading the execution of projects assigned by senior leadership, and liaising with other team leaders and departments. This position requires a seasoned Geotab product suite expert capable of explaining technical products and integrations to Geotab’s partners and customers, supporting revenue generating and strategic efforts, leading the execution of technical projects and developing individual contributors. You must be familiar with all areas of the Geotab product suite, and be able to contribute to the various areas of business opportunity development, ecosystem expansion and customer retention within the Revenue Generation organization. Provide direction, mentorship, and training opportunities, empowering team members through coaching and professional development initiatives.

Oversee team performance, career development planning, and key performance metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Lead and delegate projects, balancing workloads and optimizing individual and team contributions.

Provide technical leadership and assist in scoping projects, managing partner/customer requests, lead business meetings as they relate to technical solutioning and Geotab ecosystem optimization, etc.

Engage and collaborate with partners and customers to optimize their utilization of Geotab’s technology, products, and solutions, tailoring the approach to meet their specific and unique requirements.

Build and manage relationships between the team, internal stakeholders and partners/customers.

Understand the varying needs of stakeholders, partners and customers.

Ensure that the team is adequately capturing technical requirements so that the correct challenge has been identified and is solved for.

Act as a point of escalation for projects and opportunities with partners and customers.

Cultivate partner and customer loyalty.

Maintain a strong focus on strategic and revenue generating activities, ensuring team member efforts are impactful and align with company KPAs.

Identify and implement scalable processes to increase the team’s impact and effectiveness in supporting customers and driving business growth.
What you'll bring to the role
-
5–8 years of work experience, ideally in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Business Development, Technical Account Management or Engineering Support.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted.

Experience with programming languages, such as Python, SQL, Java, or C#, and extensive experience with API integrations.

Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques, as well as data visualization tools like Superset or Power BI.

Proven ability to maintain and grow technical knowledge to the level of a subject matter expert, in-depth experience in the Geotab ecosystem.

Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to assess customer challenges and propose viable solutions.

Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Advising on business impacts, strong understanding of industry changes, trends, emerging technologies and the flexibility to adapt to growing market demands.

Experience with sales or business development, particularly with indirect sales channels, with the ability to identify and pursue potential opportunities.

Experience in a leadership or mentoring role; proven ability to motivate and lead people and groups.

Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.

A strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
