Contractor - Associate Project Manager

The Contract - Associate Project Manager within the Solution Delivery PMO has two primary objectives. The first objective is to effectively lead or support implementation teams for deployment of GHX products for the provider and supplier community. This would involve managing multiple implementations simultaneously and working with a cross-section of Solution Delivery project resources. The second objective would include providing analytical and administrative support to more senior Project Managers and PMO management. This involves assisting with project intake, analyzing project schedules, monitoring key project metrics, and participating in team meetings as directed in support of complex implementation projects. The position requires a general knowledge base in project management, a demonstrated knowledge of the software development lifecycle, and strong communication skills. 

This is a remote-based contract position, with an expected duration of 6 months. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate customer/project “kickoff“ sessions to review assumptions and customer expectations, gather requirements, educate customer on products and services, etc.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks, providing early visibility to schedules/milestones that are at risk.
  • Manage and update project plans and schedules for assigned projects and supports Project Manager’s in doing the same across the project portfolio.
  • Direct and coordinate activities for project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule.
  • Assist team members in completing customer defined deliverables and in producing key project artifacts to document the implementation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with key customers for implementation of GHX products.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge to increase efficiency in delivery of products. 
  • Supports Project Manager’s in leading business requirements and design sessions with key stakeholders and technology team. Works in conjunction with customers to analyze, design, and develop requirements.
  • Assists the Project Manager’s with project best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
  • May coordinate the activities of project teams to implement GHX products.
  • Leads team and client meetings as assigned.
  • Assists the Solution Delivery PMO with project intake activities, portfolio management, metrics, and reporting. 

Preferred Skills

  • Certified associate in project management (CAPM) Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple small projects simultaneously, preferably in the technology or healthcare arena.
  • Healthcare technology implementation and/or ERP implementation experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the software development life cycle and EDI.
  • Experience with Salesforce. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) or more years of experience participating on or leading project teams.
  • One (1) or more years' experience with software development, implementation or integration projects either in a leadership role or as a major team contributor.
  • Knowledge of project management methods and processes and demonstrated success in delivering project scope on time and within budget.
  • Proven experience managing key customer relationships and projects. 
  • Excellent facilitation, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, self-motivated and passionate about learning new technology.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Communicates effectively at cross-functional and team levels and adapts communication style and message based on the specific setting and audience.
  • Solid analytical and qualitative reasoning skills.
  • Possesses an analytic aptitude and can identify when project activities are not conforming with the project plan. Has the capability to run reports and identify variances.

 

 

Estimated hourly compensation $35.00 - $45.00
