Network Support Analyst

The Role 

GTI is a high-growth company in a brand-new industry looking to grow its internal IT department. The Network Support Analyst is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the secure and efficient functioning of all network systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in networking, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities 

  • Network Monitoring & Maintenance: 
    • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability. 
    • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and backups. 
    • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. 
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: 
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, latency issues, and hardware malfunctions. 
    • Respond to network-related incidents and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime. 
    • Work with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues. 
  • Network Configuration & Deployment: 
    • Assist in the configuration, installation, and deployment of network hardware and software. 
    • Support the implementation of network-related projects, including upgrades and expansions. 
    • Manage and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and policies. 
  • Security & Compliance: 
    • Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. 
    • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices. 
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. 
  • Collaboration & Communication: 
    • Work closely with other IT professionals to support overall network and IT infrastructure. 
    • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior staff members. 
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to keep them informed of network status and any issues that arise. 

Qualifications  

  • 2+ years of experience in network support, administration, or a related role. 
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques. 
  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, switching, and wireless technologies. 
  • Proficiency in network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls). 
  • Experience with network security protocols and tools (e.g., VPN, IDS/IPS, firewalls). 
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network management software. 
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. 
  • May require working outside regular business hours during emergencies or scheduled maintenance. 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% annually. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
