Fertigation Technician

The Role 

Provides fertigation room labor to support the activities and operations of the Grow Department, while abiding by policies, procedures and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities 

  • Execute assigned tasks, projects and expectations of the Grow Department in accordance with GTI’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives
  • Complete any work assigned during scheduled shift, as well as information sharing:
  • Maintain open communication with management team and co-workers
  • Report employee issues or product situations
  • Abide by GTI and grow department’s safety policies
  • Follow all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties
  • Temperature monitoring
  • Dissolved oxygen monitoring
  • Weekly ECA ppm tests in all tanks
  • Weekly ECA ppm tests from the flower room tables
  • Testing of ECA skid concentrations
  • Maintenance of ECA skid
  • Tracking/record keeping for daily water usage
  • Weekly calibration/cleaning of all pH and EC meters
  • Monitor status of scaler reservoir (attached to phase 3 R/O skid)
  • Subject matter expert on all equipment in the fertigation room
  • Monitor brine tank for water softener
  • Cleaning the room (dusting tanks, plumbing, mopping, etc.)
  • Daily checklist to monitor assets
  • Mixing of concentrate tanks
  • General trouble shooting
  • Testing of nutrient concentrations through JR Peters
  • Maintenance of Argus skid, programming, and testing procedures
  • Maintenance of R/O skid and filter changes
  • Assisting in the grow during down time when available
  • Stocking of nutrients and monitoring nutrient stock levels in the storehouse
  • Capable of navigating user interface on all pumps
  • Leak audits (checking of all PVC unions and couplings for leaks)
  • Small PVC repairs
  • Working with facilities and maintenance on problems, issues, and PMs

Qualifications      

  • Knowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures and goals of the company
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences, especially with direct supervisors and co-workers
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees
  • Basic math skills
  • Understand applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work independently throughout a workday with given directives

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass all required background checks and approval by state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with product.
  • Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).
