Instructional Designer - Associate

About the Role 

 iCapital is looking to hire an Instructional Designer Associate to join the Annuities Platform team. This role is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance training programs, course curriculum, or other instructional materials or educational tools. This position will design learning solutions targeted at employees, students, or clients of the organization. This individual will collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that content is accurate and thorough and evaluate the results of training programs and modify future programs to better meet training goals. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Engineering. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content specific to Adult Learning. 
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to identify training needs for both internal and external audiences. 
  • Define instructional end goals and develop content to achieve those goals. 
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product. 
  • Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design. 
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process. 
  • Develop eLearnings and supporting media (i.e. audio, video, simulations, and role-plays) 
  • Design assessment methods (i.e. tests or quizzes) to measure content effectiveness. 
  • Develop and enhance methodologies for delivering information to internal and external audiences. 
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel for customer training materials and engagement collateral. 
  • Manage and contribute to the artifact repository for all training presentations, including administration in SharePoint and Tovuti LMS. 
  • Support the company and management on critical path projects and in cultivating revenue-generating opportunities. 
  • Take initiative to broaden and improve skills through participation in educational programs and seminars. 
  • Conduct research in support of training objectives. 
  • Interact with and train internal and external participants. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience as an instructional designer or similar role 
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or educational technology or a similar relevant field 
  • Able to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts 
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models 
  • Proficient using eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate, Canva, and Camtasia 
  • Comfortable in a collaborative work environment building strong and effective lines of communication with colleagues and subject matter experts 
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred 
  • Experience in designing, maintaining, and updating business and technical content 
  • Able to work independently to complete tasks with minimal supervision as well as work as part of a team 
  • Proven ability to identify and troubleshoot various technical issues 
  • Aptitude to learn required software applications 

 

Benefits 

The base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
