IT Intern - Technology Delivery

Conway, Arkansas

The Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG) one of the world’s largest organizations of advertising agencies and marketing services companies is seeking interns to join our IPG IT team in partnership with Acxiom.

The Technology Delivery Intern is responsible for supporting the hardware of all desktops & laptops as well as the peripherals that are connected. In addition to the hardware, there is ownership in level 1 & 2 application support on those machines. Technology Delivery is responsible for the Level 1 & 2 support on the phones & network, as well as owning support from the switch port to the desk, including the physical phones. The support also covers conference rooms for all of the A/V equipment, which includes projectors & video conference equipment. Technology Delivery also engineers solutions such as image creation & distribution, testing for other support teams, testing of any technical piece that touches the desktop and responsible for picking new standards & support models.

This intern position requires the candidate to be on-site located in Conway, Arkansas and prefers a year or longer internship. 

Essential Functions:

  • The associate is beginning to balance their development with significant contribution to the organization.
  • The associate is still learning more about Acxiom and IPG, but is expected to be more self-directed.
  • The projects and tasks to which this associate is assigned are generally moderate in complexity and or criticality.
  • The associate may be involved in leading small and/or short duration projects.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of hardware on laptops/desktops
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of peripheral devices
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of OS
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of software
  • Applies understanding of phone & A/V. Assists with set up and supports video and other presentation equipment for Acxiom presentations/forums.
  • Assists clients in determining computer capabilities between desktop workstations and specific software. Ensures client desktop service level agreements are met.
  • Researches and resolves obstacles at the desktop workstation regarding connectivity, software, and hardware, and escalates when appropriate. 
  • Security and Compliance: All IT staff must familiarize themselves and comply with all information security and compliance rules, regulations and policies. 

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Freshman, Sophomore or Junior Standing
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Computer Science or MIS Major
  • Must successfully complete IPG Background Investigation and Reference Checks
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for other than practical training
