As we continue to expand across the Americas, we are looking for a Last-Mile Delivery Operations Manager to lead our last-mile delivery operations, optimize customer delivery experiences, and ensure the smooth flow of goods from our distribution centers to the final customer.


Role Overview:

The Last-Mile Delivery Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the last-mile delivery network, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics operations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to optimize processes for maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction. The manager will work closely with teams across operations, customer service, and technology to drive innovation and continuous improvement in last-mile delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Last-Mile Delivery Network Management:
    Lead and manage the last-mile delivery operations to ensure on-time, accurate, and efficient delivery of goods to customers. Oversee the performance of delivery teams, drivers, and external partners to ensure service excellence.

  • Optimization of Delivery Processes:
    Continuously evaluate and optimize last-mile delivery routes, processes, and technologies to reduce costs and improve delivery speed and accuracy. Implement data-driven strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce delivery times.

  • Customer Experience Focus:
    Ensure a seamless customer experience by maintaining high standards of service, handling escalations, and proactively addressing any delivery issues. Ensure that customer satisfaction remains a key focus in every step of the delivery process.

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
    Work closely with other departments, including warehouse operations, customer service, and IT, to ensure smooth coordination between the last-mile network and other supply chain functions.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of last-mile delivery operations. Regularly report on operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring continuous performance tracking.

  • Vendor & Partner Management:
    Manage relationships with third-party delivery vendors, couriers, and other external partners. Negotiate contracts, set performance expectations, and monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

  • Cost Control and Budget Management:
    Develop and manage budgets for last-mile operations. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, optimize fleet management, and improve operational efficiency without compromising service quality.

  • Technology Integration & Innovation:
    Leverage technology solutions (e.g., route optimization, delivery tracking systems) to improve operational efficiency. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in last-mile delivery to ensure JD Logistics remains at the forefront of the industry.

  • Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure that all last-mile operations comply with local, regional, and international regulations related to transportation, safety, and environmental standards. Promote a safety-first culture across the team.


Key Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or last-mile delivery operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role. Experience in e-commerce, supply chain, or technology-driven delivery models is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Proven ability to manage complex last-mile delivery operations and optimize delivery routes and processes.
    • Strong understanding of logistics technologies (e.g., route optimization, fleet management, GPS tracking).
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and drive performance in delivery teams.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
    • Strong understanding of customer experience and the ability to enhance the delivery experience.
  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications in logistics, transportation, or project management are a plus.
