
Asphalt Raker

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Asphalt Raker to join our team. The Asphalt Raker will be responsible for preparing, spreading, and finishing asphalt on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience working with asphalt materials and be able to work efficiently while ensuring quality and safety on the job site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use manual and power tools to rake, spread, and smooth asphalt surfaces.
- Assist in the preparation and application of asphalt mixtures to ensure even and smooth surfaces.
- Work with a team to ensure the timely and efficient completion of asphalt paving projects.
- Ensure proper compaction of the asphalt by following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Inspect the asphalt for quality and uniformity, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of the work site by clearing debris and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Perform routine checks on asphalt levels and thickness to maintain quality control.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Work with paving crew and machine operators to ensure accurate and precise asphalt application.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as an Asphalt Raker or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with asphalt and other paving materials.
- Ability to operate manual and power raking tools.
- Basic knowledge of road construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must have a good understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with heavy machinery such as pavers, rollers, and other construction equipment.
- OSHA certifications or other relevant safety training.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Work may involve standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends or evenings, based on project needs.
