Concrete Finisher (Paving & Asphalt)

Our Paving team in Texas has an exciting opportunity as a Concrete Finisher.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation and construction of concrete pavements, curbs, and sidewalks following project specifications and design plans.
  • Lift, carry, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment weighing over 50 pounds to the work area, ensuring the availability of necessary resources for the project.
  • Assist in preparation and pouring of concrete mixtures into forms or onto surfaces, ensuring accurate placement and distribution.
  • Assist in performing repairs on concrete surfaces, including patching, resurfacing, and finishing, to ensure a smooth and uniform appearance.
  • Strike off with experience straight edge techniques, float and finish concrete.
  • Support the finishing process by smoothing, leveling, and shaping concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Operate and maneuver small equipment like skid steers, mini excavators, backhoes, rollers, etc., as needed for concrete finishing and related tasks.
  • Assist in inspecting finished concrete work to ensure it meets project specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams, including contractors, architects, and engineers, to coordinate work and achieve project goals.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or Equivalent plus a minimum of two years previous experience as a concrete finisher
  • Ability to travel a 3-4 hour radius outside of home location
  • 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on concrete finishing and related tasks.
  • Drivers License (preferred) to facilitate transportation to various jobsites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good attitude.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; trainable.
  • Strong attention to detail; take pride in work.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
