Our strategic partnership is designed to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies to advance the promise of an immunotherapy in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
Legend Biotech is seeking Manager, Competitive Intelligence as part of the Commercial team based in Somerset, NJ.
Role Overview
The Manager, Competitive Intelligence will seek out, collect, curate, synthesize and deliver key insights and implications on the competitive environment, including marketed products and pipeline compounds in the multiple myeloma and cellular therapy spaces. The Manager should identify and effectively communicate regarding overarching corporate strategies, clinical development programs, and commercial capabilities of key competitors, and overall market trends. The Manager will prioritize CI activities based on strategic business questions and relevant cross-functional stakeholders, including in Commercial, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Sales leadership and Finance/IR functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively gathering, curating, summarizing and reporting competitive information
- Providing context and objective analysis of competitive (commercial, clinical, scientific, regulatory) information to inform business decision-making
- Leading core CI initiatives, including efficacy/safety/label comparisons, congress coverage, workshops, monitoring/news.
- Creating/updating content on competitor products, launch timings, product profiles, and broader corporate strategy.
- Mapping and assessing competitive dynamics in key indications and/or therapeutic areas.
- Effectively communicating key competitive information and potential implications to cross-functional teams and leadership throughout the organization
- Providing scientific conference coverage and analysis of clinical data, commercial presence, key themes from a disease area perspective
- Providing investor conference coverage and analysis to Head of Commercial, and Finance/ IR (investor relations)
- Partnering with JNJ CI lead on CARVYKTI CI initiatives and updates
- Conducting CI workshop either in collaboration with JNJ and/ or with Legend only stakeholders
- Supporting stakeholders in development of function-specific deliverables (e.g., forecasts, market assessments, brand plans)
- Partnering with third party agencies to support CI projects
- Following pre-defined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to CI, protecting business interests and confidentiality
- Will attend key congresses (i.e. ASH, ASCO etc.) and provide updates on key presentations to the congress attendees.
- Partner with JNJ Global CI lead for OUS CI insights
- Support ad-hoc CI initiatives for Legend Pipeline and Business Development
- Collaborate with market research to develop business deliverables.
Requirements
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry, specifically Competitive Intelligence, consulting, or marketing is preferred.
- BA/BS degree in Life Science is required; Masters, PharmD, PhD or equivalent graduate degree, preferred.
- Strong communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead meetings.
- Driven by intellectual curiosity and proactive approach to monitoring the competitive landscape.
- Excellent task and time management skills (i.e., project planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management)
- Strong relationship management skills, including both internal and external contacts (e.g., vendor management and collaboration with external partner)
- Customer-centric mindset, including ability to adapt communication style, content, timing and tone to audience/stakeholder needs.
- Flexibility and capacity to learn new disease areas when required, and to support multiple competing stakeholder priorities and requests.
- Proven ability to research, develop, and deliver CI assessments and strategic insights (i.e., interpret and synthesize key data or news events and identify broader implications)
- Ability to effectively simplify and present complex information to peers and leadership to achieve pre-defined objectives.
- Experience using online data sources and scientific/market databases (e.g., Pubmed, clinicaltrials.gov, TrialTrove, Evaluate Pharma, alphasense etc.)
- Ability to work independently and proactively, using sound judgement in face of uncertainty.
