Summary

The Content Specialist plays a key role in writing, reviewing, and editing content across our platforms, often addressing nuanced and sensitive topics. This role requires exceptional editorial judgment, expert writing and editing skills, and the ability to surface meaningful insights from content analysis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and review content for social platforms, ranging from creative copy to informative text.
  • Perform content analysis and generate reports with compelling, actionable insights for partners.
  • Apply review guidelines to content at scale, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with content and product teams to enhance user experience.
  • Maintain flexibility to work an extended schedule as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in journalism, digital content strategy, production, or related fields.
  • Prior experience in prompt engineering, annotation, or managerial roles preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a proven track record of editorial judgment on nuanced topics (politics, bias, gender, religion, etc.), ensuring quality control for large text datasets.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their applications in content strategy.
  • Proficiency in AP Style and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with spreadsheet applications (Google Sheets, MS Excel) and other data analytics tools.
  • Ability to perform and support basic data analysis and visualization.
  • Expertise in audio or video content.
  • Background in visual media (photo editing, video production) or creative writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of the social media landscape.
  • Experience with system prompting or prompt engineering.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Location: United States (Remote)

Role type: Contract 6 Month Position

Expected hours: 40 per week
