As a core member of the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics team, this new role offers a unique opportunity to lead and build a team of BI analysts and data engineers, with a clear pathway to progress into a Head of Insights and Data position. You will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful Business Intelligence to drive growth across various channels, platforms, and markets.

Joining the global BI team at an exciting time of expansion, you will leverage your analytical expertise and commercial acumen to enhance the business's performance. This role involves close collaboration with global stakeholders at all seniority levels to ensure their reporting and analytical needs are met effectively.

You will have the chance to work on a wide range of data-driven initiatives while scaling and future-proofing MiQ’s BI function. This includes refining the operating model for the BI team and aligning its capabilities with the reporting features introduced by the new ERP programme. What you’ll do:

Lead, motivate, and develop a cohesive global Business Intelligence team of analysts and data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement, and empowering each member to excel in their roles. To also champion best practices,standardisation, and governance in business intelligence and data analytics.

   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Team management    
  • Lead and develop a global team of Data Engineers and Data Analysts 
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members
  • Line-manage, mentor, and motivate a team of BI professionals, fostering a positive,collaborative, innovative and inclusive team culture
  • Hold regular team meetings and 1-1s to set clear performance expectations, identify training needs, provide coaching, guidance, and resources, and encourage professional certifications and continuous learning   
  • Lead or contribute to development sprints and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives BI Team deliverables
  • Work with FP&A team to ensure there is one source of truth when it comes to Data in MiQ.
  • Work with FP&A and CoE teams to ensure historic data is cleaned and accurate in preparation for the next refinance/PE deal.  
  • Provide input into the wider BI Team strategic planning and own strategic plan for BI
  • Bring data insights to life and drive them to be actioned efficiently by delivering scalable, solutions such as dashboards, self-service analysis, AI generated insights and automated action
  • Deliver project deliverables in an agile manner
  • Oversee the Design, development, maintenance, and documentation of data processing scripts, ETL jobs, and Data Warehouse
  • Oversee data management and embed quality standards, managing data from,and to, upstream and downstream system
  • Oversee the Thoughtspot environment, including user access, permissions, data sources, and workspaces, to optimise performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with security and governance policies.
  • Drive the continuous review and improvement of Data Engineering tools and capabilities  
  • Collaborate with global MiQ teams to ensure that Data Engineering tasks meet the needs of BI Teams as a collective 
  • Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to ensure Data Quality,
  • Consistency and Integrity between source systems and within the BI stack    
  • Work with a globally distributed team and be comfortable with slack/zoom for
  • meetings and communication and organising development tasks remotely
