Business Development Associate
Natera is seeking a Business Development Associate to help grow our biopharma partnerships business. You’ll work with pharma, biotech, and data platform companies to build partnerships and drive programs in drug development research, clinical trials, commercial strategy, and companion diagnostics. This position will be focused on Natera's Organ Health and Reproductive Health partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Market Assessment & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct research on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities in the biopharma space.
- Analyze competitive landscapes, including product pipelines, licensing deals, and M&A activity.
- Compile and present research findings to senior team members to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead Generation & Outreach
- Identify and qualify potential partners and business opportunities through database research and networking.
- Assist in managing and updating CRM systems to track outreach and business development activities.
- Conduct initial outreach via email, LinkedIn, and other professional channels to generate interest in partnership discussions.
- Meeting Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between senior business development executives and potential partners.
- Prepare briefing materials and agendas for partner meetings and conference calls.
- Attend industry conferences and events to support networking and business development efforts.
- Contracting & Administrative Support
- Assist in drafting and reviewing NDAs, term sheets, and other contractual agreements.
- Work with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, including agreements, follow-ups, and deal progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field); MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or product management in the life sciences industry.
- Strong skills in partner qualification, relationship management, and business strategy.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.
- Interest in the biopharmaceutical industry, including drug development, partnerships, and licensing.
