Job Overview
The Plant Sourcing Leader will lead sourcing activities for the Matamoros manufacturing site, managing a team of four Site Commodity Leaders (Direct and Indirect). This role partners closely with the Global Commodity Team and plant leadership to execute sourcing strategies that ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will drive localization projects, expedite NPI transfers, support material readiness, and lead initiatives for cost-out and on-time delivery. This position serves as the first escalation point for fulfillment buyers and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Materials, R&D, Quality, and Operations. The Plant Sourcing Leader will also build strong partnerships with local suppliers, execute packaging commodity strategies, and ensure alignment with global sourcing objectives.
This position reports to the Global Sourcing Leader, and it is located at Matamoros, Tamaulipas site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of four Site Commodity Leaders to execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
- Partner with Global Commodity Leaders to align site sourcing activities with global strategies and cost objectives.
- Drive localization projects to reduce lead times and improve cost competitiveness.
- Expedite NPI transfers and ensure supplier readiness for new product launches.
- Act as the primary sourcing escalation point for fulfillment buyers to resolve supply constraints and delivery issues.
- Collaborate with plant leadership, Materials team, and R&D to support material readiness and production continuity.
- Keep close communication and collaboration with manufacturing/engineering to align sourcing strategies with manufacturing needs.
- Execute cost-out projects and packaging commodity strategies to achieve savings targets.
- Manage sourcing activities including quoting, buy aggregation, and site support for current and new designs.
- Ensure accurate and updated data in SAP; resolve accounts payable issues and facilitate payment dispute resolutions.
- Work effectively with Technology, Supplier Quality, and site Materials personnel for problem resolution and process improvements.
- Lead supply base consolidation, supplier lead-time reduction, and cash initiatives for assigned commodities.
- Forecast and report sourcing KPIs including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
- Conduct QBR meetings with key suppliers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel as required (~10–15%) to supplier sites and corporate offices for alignment and issue resolution.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree: Business/ Finance/ Supply Chain/Sourcing, and related field.
- MBA Preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in supply chain, commodity management, and supplier management in sourcing and operations manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing processes, supplier qualification, and NPI transfers.
- Negotiations skills.
- Knowledge of Sourcing qualification process, Materials and fulfillment standard work, and materials operations.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).
