What Does Your Job Look Like?

As a Data Governance Officer, you will be responsible for executing our client's data governance strategy, ensuring data quality, integrity, security, and availability. You will support various business units and contribute to ongoing projects by defining data policies, procedures, and best practices to drive efficient and secure data usage across the organization. Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with teams to enable successful data-driven transformations and align governance efforts with technology evolution.


Your Main Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Data Governance & Compliance

    • Maintain and enhance the data governance framework aligned with both global and local regulatory standards.
    • Oversee the implementation of data quality, linage, and classification policies.
    • Ensure adherence to data protection and privacy standards (GDPR, LGPD) across the organization.
  • Data Strategy Implementation

    • Collaborate with the architecture and technology teams to support the development of Data Hub and Data Lakehouse initiatives.
    • Ensure ongoing projects align with governance protocols and strategic objectives.
  • Data Quality and Security Management

    • Monitor key data quality indicators (KPIs) and lead initiatives to enhance data trustworthiness.
    • Implement robust data validation, monitoring, and remediation processes.
  • Metadata and Data Catalog Management

    • Implement and maintain a centralized data catalog using platforms like Collibra.
    • Ensure documentation, lineage, and traceability of critical data assets.
  • Team Coordination and Stakeholder Management

    • Define and manage the team’s work plans to ensure efficient execution of data tasks.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and business partners to foster effective data governance practices.
    • Coordinate audits and regulatory reviews related to data governance.

What You Need for This Role:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
    • Certifications in Data Governance (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) are highly desirable.
  • Experience:

    • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data strategy projects.
    • Previous experience in financial services, insurance, or data consulting industries.
    • Strong knowledge of data regulations such as GDPR and LGPD.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Expertise with data governance and metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog).
    • Experience with Data Hub, Data Lakehouse architectures, and cloud platforms (preferably IBM Financial Services Cloud).
    • Familiarity with data quality management models and remediation strategies.
    • Competence with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
