The Role:

This is a Dual role Head of Marketing for SEA and Head of Malaysia SME business. Thus we are seeking a marketeer who enjoys building businesses. 

As our Head of Marketing, in this leadership role, you will work closely with our regional head and various GTM teams i.e., sales team to drive customer acquisition and scale our business across the Southeast Asia region. You will be responsible for identifying the most attractive pockets of opportunity in the market and developing the right marketing strategies to unlock them.

The leader will manage a self-sufficient, lean team, own the marketing plan and budget for the region and will be responsible for the entire marketing strategy, setting milestones and tracking performance. Your day-to-day role will be varied, encompassing a wide range of activities across different channels. The sorts of projects that we’d expect you to be involved in include: brand building and market positioning, helping to define our target segments, developing our content strategy, driving growth on our digital channels, working closely with our partners to develop joint marketing campaigns, and developing the right sales enablement toolkit.

As the Head of Malaysia SME business you shall be responsible for scaling the number of SMEs that use our products. You shall leverage marketing and growth levers to scale the business and closely partner with product to become the leader in SME payments solutions. Key focus will be funnel optimisations, lifecycle management and growth hacking.  

The ideal candidate will have a marketing background running large-scale marketing projects. You will think and act both strategically and tactically by leading from strategic planning to detailed execution. You will quickly create data-driven marketing plans and execute them.

We are looking for a relentless, customer-obsessed, and business-minded marketer who can take up this P&L responsibility with a penchant for innovation in marketing, operational excellence, and a results driven approach. This leader should be comfortable working in a growth company getting their hands dirty. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead SME acquisition, brand building, PR, market positioning, events and competitive analysis.
  • Optimize conversion funnels, work with product and ops to drive merchant acquisition and own customer lifecycle to reduce churn and cost of acquisition while maximising life time value.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans with budget ownership, ensuring ROI.
  • Manage performance marketing, SEO, content, and creative teams for optimal execution.
  • Drive customer acquisition through data-driven campaigns and growth experiments.
  • Oversee various channels of merchant acquisition i.e., events, paid and organic online, support partners marketing etc.
  • Define and track key KPIs, optimize marketing effectiveness, and improve conversion rates.
  • Foster collaboration with Sales, Product, and Ops teams to align marketing initiatives.
  • Present insights, marketing performance, and strategies to leadership and C-suite.
  • Oversee experimentation programs, resolve roadblocks, and drive continuous innovation.
  • Establish best practices for marketing, PR and advertising, leveraging industry relationships.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Marketing and Business Experience 
    • MBA/Masters preferred, with 10-12 years of strong marketing experience (E-commerce, Fintech, SaaS will be relevant)
    • Proven track record of driving user acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth
    • Strong analytical skills with experience in data, reporting, and performance tracking
    • Expertise in digital channels, content development, events, and sales-aligned marketing strategies
    • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools and CRMs
    • Experience in Malaysia is a must, but having worked in other SEA countries will be an added advantage  
    • Has a mix of marketing and business building experience (eg category management in ecom, FMCG brand ownership along with marketing leadership in digital 1st business) 
  • People Leadership 
    • Minimum 4 years of managerial experience leading small to medium teams
    • An entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger to succeed
    • Self-motivated with high-energy levels and inspire others to work with you
    • Demonstrate strong experience in operational cadence, forecasting, mentoring and performance management
    • Experience working closely with cross functional teams to optimize marketing/ sales funnel
    • Skilled in presenting key metrics and insights to senior stakeholders and leadership teams
