Position Summary

We're seeking a full-time Software Engineer (actual title Software Engineer I) for our Seattle WA, based corporate office. 

SHEIN’s Commerce Engineering team builds applications and services that power the experience of millions of SHEIN users, as well as the productivity of thousands of SHEIN employees.  We collaborate with partners across the US and around the world to design innovative solutions to hard problems, then write scalable, production-grade code that’s deployed on a global scale.

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple software development initiatives that will super-charge SHEIN’s global expansion and cement our position as the leading technology company in the retail space.  You will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.  You will have the opportunity to learn from world-class teammates, and hopefully teach them a thing or two.

 Job Responsibilities 

• Create efficient, dependable, and maintainable code.
• Engage in all phases of the software development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment.
• Think critically about requirements and offer constructive input to teammates and business stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with collaborators, both local and in our other global offices.

Job Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience using front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• 2+ years of experience with Java and related technologies like Spring Boot and MyBatis.
• Familiarity with mobile development technologies like Kotlin and Flutter.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex and technical issues to all levels of personnel.
• Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize accordingly.
• High level of personal integrity, with the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and exudes the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Amazon Marketplace or TikTok Shop
• Prior experience in a customer-facing role like API development or sales engineering
