Role Overview

The PlayStation Store, 1st Party Commercial Planning Manager, will lead the go-to-market execution for key product launches and support the development and delivery of our global PlayStation Store sales strategy.

This role will act as the primary liaison between Commercial Management, PlayStation’s network studios and the PlayStation Store. Aligned closely with the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) and GMSBO Software (SW) teams, this role acts as a strategic partner and entrepreneurial leader, working with in the PlayStation Store team, driving commercial planning and execution across global markets. This role will also educate studios successful lifecycle planning on the PlayStation Store, and facilitate open, constructive commercial dialogue between studios and PlayStation Store’s publisher account management teams.

This individual will collaborate with a wide range of internal collaborators: QA, Global Marketing, Release Management, CDS Operations, Commercial Finance, and more, to ensure excellence in execution and alignment to growth and profitability goals.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is data-driven, proactive, and can influence cross-functional teams to deliver effective commercial strategies within the gaming industry or digital sales industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Account Management: Serve as a commercial leader across PlayStation Store in cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring executional consistency and alignment with global initiatives. This role will work collaboratively to lead across the following:
  • SKU planning & SKU plan optimization
  • Pricing & price-promotion management
  • SW Lifecycle Management Planning
  • Proactive sales-planning and commercial governance
  • Data informed sales experimentation in close collaboration with PlayStation Store’s Business Development teams and Global Commercial Planning teams
  • Data Analysis: strong use of player & buyer data sets to inform commercial strategy to drive innovative and impactful sales practice, grounded in player activity.
  • Relationship Management: support the PlayStation Store’s publisher account management teams.
  • Studio Stewardship & Education: work with studios within the Studio Business Group to influence and lead awareness to be successful on the PlayStation Store including how to factor such variables into their product design and development.
  • Revenue Forecasting & Performance Tracking: input to Studio Business Group’s revenue forecasting process; bring insights and analysis that support the forecasting process, as well as internal/external business performance updates. Track sales performance against fiscal targets, using sales insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Retail Strategy: Develop and implement sales and retail marketing strategies that enhance market positioning and drive revenue growth for the PlayStation Store.
  • Commercial Management: Support the Director of SW Commercial Planning to integrate PlayStation Store as a core component of lifecycle planning and software management globally.

Identify and champion process improvements in partnership with Commercial Management, Global Marketing, Studios, Release Management, and other collaborators.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated achievement in leading all aspects of a digital or eCommerce business, with a solid background in both planning and implementing operations.
  • Entrepreneurial demeanor with the ability to navigate uncertainty, simplify complexity, and achieve results with limited resources.
  • Experience in account management and sales analysis; proficiency in interpreting data to inform strategy.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a collaborative and adaptable approach in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Confident communicator, skilled at presenting and influencing senior leadership.
  • Highly analytical, with a track record of using data to drive decision-making and measure success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$139,900 - $209,900 USD
