About the role:

We are looking for a strategic Senior Counsel to support the iteration and deployment of our global workforce strategy during a time of rapid growth. In this role, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to build and implement the business frameworks that enable Turing to expand its innovative remote-first approach to work. With an immediate focus on the US, India, and Brazil markets, you will be key to improving upon and building scalable and pragmatic workforce business solutions that support Turing’s mission of Unleashing the World's Untapped Human Potential across Turing’s now and future operating locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead corporate governance matters, including board and committee meeting preparation, resolutions, and minutes, as well as stockholder relations matters.
  • Work closely with outside counsel to support Finance leaders in fundraising, M&A, fundraising and other strategic transactions.
  • Manage international expansion efforts, including subsidiary formation and maintenance and inter-company structuring.
  • Providing legal advice and support on other transactions and corporate maintenance activities of the company.
  • Own legal side of the company’s equity incentive plan for employees, including providing guidance on legal questions asked by staff and investors, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory filings, requirements, and paperwork
  • Shaping and improving our legal processes that enable both legal and business functions to scale effectively

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience working in a law firm and in-house legal department, with at least 3+ years of experience focused specifically on corporate and securities work.
  • Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar association.
  • Pragmatic, creative legal thinker with excellent judgment and a willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges.
  • Background in counseling business teams on corporate matters.
  • Established record of sound judgment and decision making.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and persuasion skills.
  • Self-starter, strong organization and project management skills.
  • Can work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that challenges conventional wisdom while maintaining the highest standards for legal and ethical compliance.
  • SF Bay area is preferred. 
  • Sense of humor is also greatly appreciated

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with and enjoyment in learning about AI/ML regulatory frameworks
  • In-house experience at a global technology company or tech services firm
  • Track record of successfully guiding companies through expansion into new jurisdictions
  • Experience working in distributed or remote teams
  • An understanding of the laws and business considerations relating to the future of work and the gig economy
