We are currently experiencing record-breaking hypergrowth and are looking for a Benefits Specialist who is passionate about the Total Rewards experience and creating policies and programs that serve the entire team. The Benefits Specialist is part of the People Ops team and will be responsible for the management of vendors, systems, processes, and operations for all benefit programs at Turing. The Benefits Specialist will also have a hand in shaping Turing’s policies and standards to align with best practices in the industry across the world. The ideal candidate is comfortable with quickly handling routine tasks with precision and accuracy, while also being flexible enough to pivot and solve complex and confidential problems that may arise. This pivotal member of the People Operations team will work closely not only with other members of the People Team, but with Finance, Legal, and Information Security on a regular basis. This role requires someone who is able to manage their work independently and can juggle multiple projects at once.
Responsibilities include:
- Benefits Administration: Primary contact for all benefit enrollment and changes from multiple vendors across the countries that we provide benefits, including the US, India, and Brazil.
- Broker and Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external benefits providers and brokers, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Benefits Systems Management: Oversee the day-to-day management and optimization of Benefit Portals and Systems, ensuring the flow of onboarding, offboarding, and other life events in the systems we use (ADP, Sequoia, and Carta).
- Policies: Enforce, modify, and create policies as needed, collaborating with other members of the People Team, Legal, Finance, and other teams within the organization.
- Leave Management: Administer employee leave programs, such as FMLA and disability, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance with applicable laws.
- Visa Administration: Maintain the visa and immigration program for the United States, including processing H-1Bs and green cards.
- Auditing Confidential Data: Conduct regular audits of employee benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including GDPR, SOC II & HIPAA standards.
- Help Desk Support: Respond to benefit or policy-related tickets that are submitted to the People Team Ticket System
- Employee Communication: Develop and distribute clear, concise communications to educate employees about benefit options, policy changes, and enrollment procedures.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or other related field.
- 3+ years of experience in benefits administration and/or total rewards.
- Working knowledge of relevant employment laws (e.g., FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA) and experience ensuring compliance
- Experience collaborating with Legal, Compensation, Stock Administration, or Payroll stakeholders.
Preferred Skills, but not Required
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR Certification.
- Experience working with a global benefits program or EOR program.
- Proficiency in building reports and analyzing benefits data for actionable insights.
- Familiarity with integrations and workflows to optimize HRIS and benefits systems.
